Absolutely love this time of year. Cooler days and evenings, but still shorts and t-shirts weather. Stunning sunsets and enjoying our evening walks with views like this 😎🇪🇸 by @idealgyms

Sometimes good to look back on a pretty amazing career of opportunities. Remembering April 1994, Esquire magazine doing an article on elite athletes and little old me turning up to represent the Royal Marines as a PTI with some of the best athletes of their time. The day I turned up at Lilleshal British Olympic testing Centre and cuffed a few fizz tests with some legends. Royal doing what we do best, rising to the challenge and finished second only to Colin Jackson😉😉😎👊🏻. Seems a lifetime ago. by @idealgyms

When your morning walk allows you to recharge the batteries and realise life isn’t that bad after all. All of this and more on our doorstep😎🇪🇸 by @idealgyms

A day to celebrate being alive and kicking. Our daily beach walk and had the beach completely to ourselves. Not a single soul but us enjoying the sound of the waves and beautiful weather. First day in 4 months below 30 degrees and time to enjoy even more now the tourists have gone also. Feeling blessed😎🇪🇸 by @idealgyms

Proud parents day yesterday as Logan got his AS/A level results. The boy did well😎
Like so many other nervous parents and kids in the UK, here in Spain we also got the results and feeling much more relieved now. It’s been a long wait.
First year of his 2 year A level courses done. English and Business are modular so 4 exams broken down into 2 exams each year as they are more difficult subjects apparently.
English paper 1 and 2 done and he got an A😎
Business paper 1 and 2 done and he got a B.
So next year he has 3 Sociology papers to do in one go to complete and 2 more papers of English and Business but what a great start and the hard work paying off.
We didn’t realise just how big the jump from GCSE to A level was but happy to see Logan happy after a nervous wait. All the extra work, study and hopes have been worth it. Now to push on for his last year of school😎Time to celebrate 👏👏😎 by @idealgyms

Sometimes you forget where you have come from, who you have helped, who you are and what made you feel you were where you were supposed to be. As well as looking backwards to previous monumental moments, it’s important not to forget tomorrow is another day and there are many more moments, memories and madness to be conquered. Thought I’d share a few defining moments just because I can😎 by @idealgyms

$So finding solutions when finances are tight and making a difference to your personal circumstances has been one of the benefits for us by choosing the lifestyle and environment we want to live here in Spain. We moved here after living near Granada and started all over again. The hard work is starting to pay off and thought I’d share a few before and after pictures of just some of the work we have been busy creating😊 The underbuild first then pool and patio/garden photos to follow in a separate post. Firstly the underbuild epic. Aim to provide our growing teenager with his own space as he grows into a young adult. The first task which took me 4 months of initially crawling into the work space and digging by shovel then carrying out by hand, and bucket to clear over 100 tonnes of soil. Saved money by reusing the soil to level our large garden out the back of the house one bucket at a time but created what we think is an amazing space for Logan. He is happy as the old proverbial pig in shit and done for a fraction of the crazy money rogue builders thought they could chance their arms at quoting us for doing the work. Only thing I/we didn’t do was connecting the electrics and fitting the air con but I did the first fixes and it’s amazing what can be done when you do good research. It took us virtually a whole year and a heap of google videos, including damp proofing/tanking and underpinning/form work but super proud of how it has turned out. Also done completely legally and added to our deeds via an excellent architect and helpful local town council. Now onto our pool and patio project. Seperate post to follow. Added bonus, teaching Logan life lessons. When you are delivered lemons, turn them into lemonade. He knows knows if he wants something but can’t afford it, the value of DIY, not to mention how to mix concrete🤣🤣Life lessons at their best😎👊🏻 by @idealgyms$

So as it is the weekend to remember, I thought it best to post now and say my bit to all those who served, are still serving, those I call my brothers and sisters from another mother, those who didn’t come back, those that did come back but were changed forever and in general all those in a generation the likes of which we will no doubt never see the likes of again. I am immensely proud of my own service but will be raising a few cold ones to you all on what I and many regard as an immensely important weekend.
Lest we forget❤️🥃 by @idealgyms

So it’s been a full on week, with returning to Scotland for my dads ashes send off but like so many other parents, couldn’t be prouder of our son Logan for today’s achievements in his GCSE exam results. After achieving his scholarship for A levels, getting today’s results bring us great pride, and his success for us is even better especially considering he jumped up a year and completed the 2 year GCSE syllabus in only 1 year. Me Nicky and Logan are off out tonight for a celebratory meal. Ride not to😎👏👊🏻 by @idealgyms

Happy Armed Forces Day to my brothers from another mother. Wazzer hoofing Royal😎👊🏻 by @idealgyms
