We love Cape Town ♥️ we feel so blessed and we were in so much LUCK!

Eventhough it was winter time, the weather was like spring time with amazing sunsets every evening. We saw a caracal (for me a first), many many many (breaching) whales, a falling comet and an amazing set of fog clouds entering the harbour of Houtbay slowly, while watching the sunset at Chapmans Peak. 🤩🤩🤩 It felt like we were on top of the world, but we were just above sea level!

Can’t believe what we were able to witness in only a couple of days. Feels good to be back in Cape Town..

Till we meet again 🥰😍

Hier mijn favoriete kiekjes 🤩

Volunteering in Africa 🫶

A dream come true. This video summarizes in 1.5 minutes the ten best weeks of 2023. From fitting wild lions with collars and monitoring protected species in nature reserves for @wildlife_act , to exploring Cape Town and spending two weeks helping research marine life in Gansbaai @whitesharkprojects

Especially my time at Wildlife ACT was an adventure to remember ♥️ Project: Saving Endangered Species.

Wildlife ACT specializes in the safe capture, transportation, and reintroduction of endangered species into new areas. Key to their success is the intensive, daily monitoring of these animals to assess how they are adapting to life in the wild. And that was exactly what I had the incredible opportunity to help them with for a couple of unforgettable weeks at various National Parks.

One example of their remarkable work was their collaboration with @wwfsouthafrica, where they successfully reintroduced over 200 endangered Black Rhinos in just three years. 🦏🩶 Being part of such a vital and impactful project was truly a dream come true.

One of the best surprises of our trip to Zimbabwe was @matobohillslodge 🛖😍
.
After a long day of travel we arrived at Matobo Hills Lodge in the Matobo National Park. This was our first stop in Zimbabwe and turned out to be one of the best. Such an amazing place with the best sunset ever.

Mana Pools National Park - Zimbabwe 🇿🇼
.
This year @idenies and I made a bucketlist of things we would like to do together. On top of that list was visiting Mana Pools National Park in Zimbabwe. Two months after making that bucketlist we spend the most amazing week in this beautiful place.
.
Do you have a number 1 destination you would love to visit one day?

On World Animal Day, I couldn’t leave this one out. I found it so touching to see these two lions lying together.

Lions have a unique way of greeting each other: they rub their heads and cheeks together intensely. In doing so, they release pheromones that create a shared “family scent,” which fosters a strong sense of togetherness within the group.

It’s beautiful to see ☀️

No amount of wealth is worth sacrificing this natural world, which sustains us all. 💚

Let’s share this message together and enjoy this moment of natural beauty. Not only can we enjoy nature and find relaxation in it, but we also depend on it. We owe it our oxygen, our water, our food, our medicine, and so much more.

If you agree, feel free to like, share or comment 🙏

Let’s cherish this world and make more room for nature and less for our greed.

Best lion sighting of the trip🦁😍
.
As we went for a morning game drive in Mana Pools National Park we spotted a waterbuck making an alarmcall. We took a little loop in the direction which the animal was looking and found this beautiful male lion.
.
Always good to check animal behaviour when you are on a drive. They see a lot more compared to us humans😉

Hwange National Park is a special place 🇿🇼♥️
.
In August @idenies and I visited Zimbabwe and part of our trip was a 5 day stay in Hwange National Park. We really loved this place and also the people we met inside the park. We also had some amazing wildlife sightings as you can tell 😅
.
If you would also like to visit Hwange and have some questions regarding your trip. please send me a message.

The Stretch🐘🌳
.
During our stay in Mana Pools National Park we saw a lot of elephants reaching for leaves up in the trees. We even saw a big bull standing on his hind legs to reach the upper branches.

Sable Antelope 😍
.
During my trips to Africa I always hoped to see a sable like this one. A strong bull with huge horns appeared at one of the dams in Hwange National Park (Zimbabwe). Seeing this beautiful animal was truly special.
.
Do you have a favorite antelope in the African bush?
