I’m asking my community to COMMENT, SHARE & REPOST.

I have publicly raised a serious allegation of racial discrimination regarding my experience at the Piedmont Theatre, operated by Landmark Theatres. Landmark acknowledged my complaint and told me they were investigating ✊🏿 but I am still waiting for meaningful answers.

I have also requested that the security footage from approximately 7:00–7:20 PM be preserved so there can be transparency about what occurred.

Until this is properly addressed, I am asking our community to:

BOYCOTT PIEDMONT THEATRE & LANDMARK THEATRES.

This is bigger than one movie ticket. People should be able to enter a public business, purchase a ticket, and enjoy a film without being treated differently because of the color of their skin.

If you believe businesses should take allegations of racial discrimination seriously, leave a comment below. 👇🏾

Tag @landmarktheatres and respectfully ask:

“Will you preserve the security footage and publicly address this allegation?”

If you’ve ever experienced discrimination at a movie theater or another public business, share your experience in the comments too.

The goal is accountability, transparency and change.

Please COMMENT • SAVE • SHARE • REPOST until we get answers.

5:55am Homie, Sometimes the people you love won’t choose you the way you choose them. You won’t always get the invitation. You won’t always get the call. You might even feel slept on, overlooked, or left out.

But I’m learning not to abandon myself just because somebody else doesn’t see my value.

So while they sleep on me, I work on me.
I train. I heal. I create. I protect my energy. I pour that love back into myself.

I don’t need an invitation to take care of me.
I don’t need to be chosen to know I’m worthy.

This season is teaching me that sometimes choosing yourself means being comfortable standing alone not out of anger, but out of self-respect.

If I’m not invited, I’m still showing up for myself.

Venus retrograde got me reevaluating love, relationships, value & most importantly, the relationship I have with me.

Sleep on me if you want. I’m not sleeping on myself. 🌱

LAND OF THE SETTING SUN
DJ CAVEM / Dr. Ietef Vita

Produced in 2025 in Havana, Cuba and Oakland CA, this collection carries the creative influence of his time at Jazz Plaza in Havana, and as artist-in-residence at Yinka Shonibare’s @gasfoundation in Nigeria.

LAND OF THE SETTING SUN invites you to bring music into the places where life grows: your garden, your kitchen, your windowsill, your neighborhood. Put it on while you plant seeds, water your greens, prepare a plant-based meal, or take a moment to breathe.

Come listen, commune and catch the sunset. taken in Oakland, California by @ietef
