Designed for those who want to move from loving great stories to helping make them, the scholarships will support selected students with 50% to 80% of the applicable programme fee.

The future of entertainment will need more artists, animators, designers, technologists, storytellers and world-builders behind it.

Netflix on Wednesday unveiled the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative, a multi-phase investment programme aimed at strengthening India’s creative talent pipeline through partnerships with key Indian institutions.

We are proud to announce IICT’s partnership with Netflix as part of the Netflix India Storytelling Initiative.

This initiative is focused on developing the next generation of storytellers by creating stronger connections between industry and education. As part of this collaboration, IICT will introduce two specialised courses focused on Visual Effects and Media Tech Workflows, designed to equip aspiring creators with industry-relevant skills. The initiative will also provide 100 scholarships to support and encourage emerging creative talent.

Together, we aim to nurture creative talent and help shape the future of India’s entertainment ecosystem.

At IICT, our mission has always been to prepare creators for the opportunities of tomorrow. Collaborations like these reinforce our commitment to industry-led learning and meaningful creative education.

India’s next phase of media and entertainment growth will need more than scale. It will need stronger creative capability across animation, VFX, gaming, XR and the wider AVGC-XR ecosystem.

At the CII Big Picture Summit 2026, IICT CEO Dr Vishhwas Deosskar joined the session “The Road to $100 Billion: Where India’s M&E Growth Will Come From” to discuss the role talent, technology, AI and industry collaboration will play in shaping that growth.

For IICT, the opportunity lies in building creators who can use new technologies with cultural understanding, imagination and intent.
Because the future of AVGC-XR will not be shaped by tools alone.

Create with AI is an initiative by IICT and YouTube that brought four filmmaking teams together to explore the possibilities of AI-powered filmmaking combining emerging technology with human creativity, storytelling and cinematic craft.

At IICT, filmmakers moved from prompt to production, experimenting with AI tools, refining their ideas and bringing their stories to life with the support of IICT’s infrastructure, filmmaking environment and faculty mentors.
