3 years ago today, I made Jesus the Lord of my life🥹

These three years have somehow been both the slowest and fastest years of my life, but without a doubt, the fullest.

On 10/08/2023, I walked away from a life of impurity, conceit, insecurity, people-pleasing, smoking, drinking, vaping, numbing out, searching for love in all the wrong places, searching for worth in my achievements and relationships, constant anxiety and unforgiveness.

What I gave up was nothing compared to what I gained. A relationship with my Creator. A spiritual family. A purpose bigger than myself. The privilege of helping others know Him. And a hope that even the deepest grief cannot take away.

This past year has been the hardest, most bittersweet, and perhaps most transformative year of my life. I was able to baptize my mom and then watched her pass away two months later. I experienced a depth of grief I never knew existed, and had to learn how to keep walking with God and leading others, when my heart was breaking. This year, I’ve learned that sometimes faith looks like choosing to cling to Him when life is painful. More than anything, this year has humbled me. I used to think spiritual maturity meant knowing more, but I’m learning that sometimes it means becoming more dependent on Jesus.

I’m definitely not the same girl who went into that water three years ago and I’m nowhere near finished becoming who God is calling me to be, but thank you, God, for saving me. Three years down, a lifetime to go🤍

Happy 54th Birthday, Mom!! 🤍

Every year, I’d ask what you wanted for your birthday, and every year, all you wanted was to be around your kids. I’m sorry I can’t give you that this year, but heaven is a pretty cool gift too.🥹

Usually, I’d bring you stargazer lilies and buy you something practical (even though you never wanted anything — yet somehow, it usually turned out to be pretty useful😆). But this year is different. Bittersweet.

Losing you has been one of the hardest mountains I’ve ever had to climb. But I’m so proud of how hard you fought to stay here, and I’m grateful for every extra moment God gave us with you. I know He wanted you back home with Him.

I’ll never forget when you said, “I wish I could be your mom for longer.”

Because I wish I could be your daughter for longer.🤍
