Cristina and Ilana joked for years about starting a mental health podcast. In November 2023 Ilana went to Costa Rica to face her longtime depression with plant medicine…it went very sideways. She was grateful to make it home alive. After a year of therapy and a ton of self work, she’s ready to talk about it here.

These two creative baddies will be talking about their own mental health journeys and interviewing incredible artist friends about how they deal with their artistic brains. Join the ongoing conversation at That’s So Mental the podcast!

Haven’t had a fun scammer interaction in a while. This one feels like I’m dealing with an AI bot, so hopefully I’m teaching them that humans are unhinged lunatics. Making myself giggle while watching 3 hours of soccer games this weekend. #scammers #clowningformentalhealth #chazhands #elkmeat by @ilanainla

What happens when your biggest dream is no longer the only thing that matters?

TOMORROW on Mommywood, I’m joined by the incredibly funny and honest Ilana Cohn—writer, director, actor, comedian, podcast host, and mom of two.

We talk about:
🤍 redefining success after becoming a mom
🎭 surviving the ups and downs of Hollywood
🧠 mental health, burnout, and healing
🎬 creating your own opportunities when the industry changes
❤️ raising creative kids while trying to stay creative yourself
😂 and yes… we somehow start the episode talking about lice.

This conversation is funny, vulnerable, and such an honest look at what it means to keep chasing your dreams while raising a family. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re “behind,” or if success looks different than you imagined, this one’s for you. 💛

🎧 Listen wherever you get your podcasts.

At some point AI will be doing EVERYTHING, but I’d like to see them try this! Thank you @anneegreg @hellorebekka and of course, my partner in whore crimes, @alishagaddishere. I love getting to do this nonsense with you!!!! Glad we got to celebrate with Wes Anderson.

New episode of @thatssomentalpodcast out today. These three people look like nice normal folks, but get them on a stage and out come the freaks! (Swipe through for proof!)

So grateful we got to chat with comedy genius and legend Drew Droege. He joins Ilana and Cristina in studio and shares how he created his show, Theater Idiot. Drew’s best advice. . . be the Asshole of your own story!

Shoutouts: Theater Idiot, @stopthattrainmovie, @joshrosebrook.ua skincare

Endorsements; Stop washing your face, Yoga with Adrienne, Yoga Go, or any old Yoga!

New episode up!! Thank you to the hilarious, gorgeous, super talented @missipyle for joining @thatssomentalpodcast in studio. We loved having you!

Missi’s take; what’s the best that could happen?! Cristina is looking to keep her focus on the positive and maybe just stop thinking so dang much. And Ilana’s getting mindful during times of lack by finding all the cool kids’ clothing swaps.
Shoutouts: Thrifting and clothing swaps, Tin Can Phones, magnesium (always), @tincan.kids
Endorsements: Famesick: A Memoir by Lena Dunham, @lenadunham, @lasculturistas and asking your higher self to point you in the right direction... and sometimes that direction is micro needling.

Follow @thatssomentalpodcast @theonecristinafernandez @ilanainla and guest @missipyle

Catch Missi in @rupaulofficial upcoming movie @stopthattrainmovie!

Happy 7th birthday to this strong, wild, inquisitive, ridiculously silly boy. He’s a man of many talents and hair styles. He loves baseball, handball, soccer, piano, drawing, theater, and screaming, We love you so much Ethan! It’s an honor to be your mama. #Memorialdaybaby #67birthday by @ilanainla

Ethan started playing the piano this fall and wanted to quit a couple months ago, but then he heard about the recital. He made it a whole performance and I think he’s hooked now! #6yearsold #proudparents #starwars #darkside thanks @burbankmusicacademy by @ilanainla

Thank you @alishagaddishere for being my partner in fun and nonsense. Last night was so incredible!!!

Thank you @hellorebekka and @anneegreg for bringing it! To @anniegirardyay for helping backstage and @storylori for the video graphic. And to @lyrichyperion and @ianslazar for lights. And to @liamksullivan for holding it down the past two weeks while we put this show together.

And thank you to everyone who came out and laughed!!! Appreciate you all so very much!

AI may be taking jobs away, but what happened last night, it won’t be taking that away!! Thank you for supporting live theater!!! by @ilanainla
