Still reeling from the packed and raucous premiere of I Hate Myself and Want to Die @hatemyselffilm, a film I co-produced and co-star in, written and directed by the wonderful J Davis. Now available to rent and buy on @appletv @primevideo and @youtube, and to stream on @kanopy!

I’ve never coordinated a premiere before and feel so grateful to the incredible staff at our home base @vidiots for making it easy, and to @viviankerr for all her shared wisdom. Thanks to our @gettyimages photographer @rodinphotography and our editorial photographer @ursulavari.creative for capturing the night perfectly. Thanks to @scottieimages for being so helpful and to @saint.cyr_ and @rachmlindy for making everything easier.

HUGE thank you to @markduplass who stepped in as the Other Brother (tm @thecockroachfilm for that joke) while @jayduplass was called away to Other Mommy business and did a beautiful, thoughtful job with our Q and A.

Thank you to everyone who came and laughed and has told all their friends to watch our tiny but GREAT indie. And thank you to the best cast and crew I can imagine.

@markduplass, the best cheerleader on the planet. So grateful.

Love sharing this life with @sstrangerthanparadise and @maryelizabethellis

Pile in the Wild! Thank you for showing up, wonderful friends.

My chosen family and my actual family.

@theandrehyland @aligallo @biketassel

Love this photo of @meredithsalenger and me in the Q and A.

Friends for three decades but he’ll never see this @willthematthews

@markduplass and our amazing casting director @ameyrenecasting

@willthematthews brought @briansacca with him — we’ve all loved each other since @nyutisch and it’s just wonderful to all still be friends and still be doing the things we love to do.

Jumpstarting @thatssomentalpodcast back to life is artist, actress, writer and overall renaissance woman, Christina Catherine Martinez. She’s here talking about anger, how to become a steadfast clown and finding inspiration out in the world, even at Ross Dress for Less. She’s got guts and tits, but won’t be flashing them for at least another 50 years... when it really counts.

Endorsements; Acupuncture; specifically @alhambra_medical_university, Physical Therapy, Farmers Market

What happens when your biggest dream is no longer the only thing that matters?

TOMORROW on Mommywood, I’m joined by the incredibly funny and honest Ilana Cohn—writer, director, actor, comedian, podcast host, and mom of two.

We talk about:
🤍 redefining success after becoming a mom
🎭 surviving the ups and downs of Hollywood
🧠 mental health, burnout, and healing
🎬 creating your own opportunities when the industry changes
❤️ raising creative kids while trying to stay creative yourself
😂 and yes… we somehow start the episode talking about lice.

This conversation is funny, vulnerable, and such an honest look at what it means to keep chasing your dreams while raising a family. If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re “behind,” or if success looks different than you imagined, this one’s for you. 💛

🎧 Listen wherever you get your podcasts.

✨ Incoming. BIG FEELINGS. ✨

Last night, we performed OVERDRESSED to a packed house.

My heart is so full.

Thank you to every single person who came to laugh with us, cheer us on, and celebrate this beautifully ridiculous show. There is nothing I love more than performing. I hope you felt every ounce of joy we poured onto that stage.

Here’s the part that gets me.

Growing up, I was constantly told I was “too much.”

Too loud.
Too expressive.
Too emotional.
Too ambitious.
Too bold.

Somehow, I came to believe those things were flaws. I thought I needed to become smaller, quieter, and easier for other people to hold.

It has taken years to unlearn that.

Years to realize the very qualities I tried to hide were the ones that made me… me.

Then something extraordinary happened.

I built a career around being exactly who I am.

And standing on that stage last night, surrounded by these brilliant women, who I love and get to call my besties, who are gloriously, unapologetically “too much” in all the best ways, I had one overwhelming thought.

Look at this.

Look at this joy!!!
Look at this friendship (how lucky am I?!?)
Look at what happens when people stop apologizing for taking up space.

When I got home, I hugged Indiana and told her something I wish someone had told little Alisha.

Be exactly who you are.

Your people are out there.
Your gifts are needed.
Your voice belongs here.

Never make yourself smaller to fit inside someone else’s idea of enough.

I’m also endlessly grateful for my favorite human, Lucky, who sees me completely and somehow captures these moments better than I ever could.

My heart is overflowing today.

To my wild lovely friends. To everyone who filled that theater. To every person who has ever been told they were “too much.”

You were never too much.

You were simply waiting for the right stage.

Now go shine your light.

@ilanainla @hellorebekka @anneegreg @theluckyvato ❤️
