I know it's nothing big but I think it's always good to celebrate the little wins in life! 😉👌 So thank you all so much who have been following my journey so far and welcome to all who is new. Happy Father's Day to the most amazing dad we could have ever asked for @ilhamchew_

You are strong, fearless, determined, loving, funny, adventurous and grounding.

I will always be in awe watching you with Sora. You can feel the love radiant when you're together. He is a little version of you. It's the best (sometimes hard 😂).

Sora and I are beyond blessed to have you in our life.

We’ve always been the couple that picks up hobbies together. Dancing first. Then diving, hiking, even caving. Most of them faded out. Snowboarding stuck.

The snow became our yearly thing, and over the years Bright and Hotham became the spots we kept coming back to. That crisp air that you feel deep down your lungs, the view above the clouds, the rush of shredding down and then the strange calm of being surrounded by snowy trees.

Bright’s changed in that time. New shops, new houses. But a few of our favourites are still standing, like our favourite pie shop Gumtree Bakery. That Penang curry pumpkin pie is to die for.

So it felt right to bring Sora into it.

First arrival we panicked a bit. Wind so strong it had him in actual tears. 🥹 Then he pointed at the bus. We hopped on, ended up at the kiddie hill, and there, he was shredding the snow!

We didn’t get on a board once. Didn’t matter. The joy in his eyes coming down that snow hill was everything. taken in Mount Hotham Ski Village, Victoria by @ilhamchew_

Our son’s first trip to the beach. 🌊

He’s been obsessed with sand lately, so even though it’s winter, we rugged up and went anyway.

The joy on his face when he hit the sand… I don’t even have the word for it. Just pure.

Watching it back now, I remember I spent part of that day in my head. Is it too cold? Is it gonna rain? Should we even be doing this?

I’m so glad we went anyway.

We drove out to forage some mushrooms today. Our usual spot, the one Lauren and I always go to.

Got there and the pine trees were gone. Every single one, cut down.

I was sad.
Angry almost.
I wanted my son to experience this.

But the sun was out, the day was beautiful, so we just sat down anyway. Naked ground, rocks under our buttocks.

My son didn’t care about any of that. He just started playing with the rocks like it was the best day of his life.

And that’s when I forgot I was sad. He does that. Reminds me the moment doesn’t need to be a certain way to count.

We ate our mandarins and just sat there. Some things you can’t control. But you can control whether you let it steal the day from you. by @ilhamchew_

I like knowing exactly what I’m doing before I do it. Every detail planned out. Feels safer that way.

But the thing that’s supposed to protect me from failing? Turns out it’s the thing stopping me from starting at all.

Overwhelmed before I even begin. Every time.

Can we normalise posing a single photo again?

2016. I remember we used to post one photo. No caption, no explanation. Just because we wanted to share the moment.

Now every post is a strategy. Hook first three seconds. Optimise for views. Chase the algorithm.

Somewhere in there I forgot that’s not the whole point.
