Nikolaj Ehlers with his first ever goal against the Jets to give his Hurricanes club their first lead of the game.

He’s now scored against all the NHL clubs (33 actually since he did vs ‘Yotes).

Almost seemed a bit muted of a response by him to his first goal of the season as if he felt badly scoring against his old team.

Turned out to be the game-winning goal.

Mark Scheifele opened the scoring with a bit of an assist from former teammate Nikolaj Ehlers.

He’s now five back of catching Dale Hawerchuk on the All-Time goals list in Winnipeg NHL history.

“You just don’t replace Josh Morrissey, just like you don’t replace Mark Scheifele, you don’t replace Kyle Connor... it’s the equivalent of Colorado losing Cale Makar” - Ezzy

Tough news for the Winnipeg Jets as Josh Morrissey’s injury status has changed from day-to-day to week-to-week.

According to Mike McIntyre, no surgery is required, but the recovery timeline is longer than the team initially hoped.

Based on Scott Arniel’s comments on Tuesday, we were already questioning whether Morrissey’s absence might be longer than originally expected.
