Whew! I’m finally getting time to recap from a weekend full of art. Last week, I flew to Houston to join @moriahalisee for Gloryland 2026. I discovered her YouTube channel a few years ago—which now stays in rotation as I’m working in the studio. But last weekend, I had to step away from the canvas to be in the room with her and 11 other change agents/leaders in the art world. Within the first 10 minutes of the first panel, I knew I made the right decision by going. I left Houston with more knowledge, answered questions, and valuable connections. Now it’s time to put all those things into practice as I’m developing this new series….and beyond. Thank you again Moriah for your commitment and contributions to the art world! Words really cannot capture the important work you’re doing with @deargloryworld. Just know what you and your team are building is absolutely necessary for all of us to succeed in the art ecosystem. So thank you! ✨ Until next time, ✌🏾and 💛! #gloryland2026 #gloryland #htxart #untitledartfair taken in Houston, Texas by @ilovephy

Surrender (2025) 48in x 30in (121.92 cm x 76.2 cm) Oil and acrylic on canvas Moon Valley series Behind the scenes process of one of my favs from the Moon Valley series. Before I began creating the concept, I kept feeling a tug towards the word “abide”. Searching for scriptures, I landed on John 15. Verses 4 & 5 stood out the most for me to visually capture, but the whole chapter hits kinda hard. This is the result. Surrender is almost usually associated with defeat. With this piece, that’s not the case. This work is about the honorable posture and reverence of surrendering rather than resistance and defeat. I’ve come to deeply appreciate that part of my journey with God. I’ve had the pleasure of debuting this painting first with the Jordan brand during the 2025 WNBA All-Star weekend, then my solo show, and now it’s still at Newfields. ✨ August 16, 2026 wraps the final day of The Source exhibition at the Indianapolis Museum of Art. You might see me. 😉 So be sure to check out Surrender while you’re there! Til next time…..✌🏾&💛🥂 #blackart #blackartist #blackartcollectors #indyartist #faithbasedart by @ilovephy

Jireh (2025) 24in x 24in (60.96 cm x 60.96 cm) Oil, acrylic, pencil, and leaf on canvas (framed) From the Moon Valley series I can’t recall the exact moment I came across Matthew 6:26 for the first time, but I do remember it was when I needed it most. If you aren’t familiar, the latter part of the chapter reveals the linked relationship we have between faith, anxiety, and provision. Verses 25 through 34 offers a comparative viewpoint in how God graciously provides for nature (animals, flowers, etc) and how He will do the same for us. Verse 26 specifically challenges our doubt and negative thought patterns. When I began conceptualizing what I wanted to paint, verse 26 stood out to me. Daily, birds take flight to source materials for their nest, labor to build it, and search for food to provide for their young. God gives provision to provide. We all carry something that we are [at times] worried about. It’s not exclusive to finances and food. Only you know your story and how this may resonate with your situation. I truly believe that regardless of your beliefs, you will more than likely be encouraged if you decide to read in full. Hope this helps. ✨ Til next time folks…✌🏾& 💛! Sooooooo I did a thing and started a YouTube channel where I vlog my art journey. This is the first-ish episode. Eek! 🫠 Watch as I document the process of one of the latest mural projects I worked on. I’ve always had an affinity with art & technology so, being granted the opportunity to merge the two was a dream. I am truly grateful I had the chance to work with the @insidethei team on another incredible project! Thank you @conradusa for remembering and bringing me on board to create something special for Fishers. Many thanks to Tara for your help from start to finish! Drew, Shawn, and Therese for being an extra set of creative eyes and bringing the 2D version of this mural to life! Thank you to the Dodd team for your help and expertise. And a big thank you to the @fishersin for the amazing opportunity to create something innovative for your community. It definitely took a village to bring this vision earth side, so I truly hope everyone enjoys it for many years to come. Once you’re done here, head over to YouTube or visit the link in my bio for the full recap! Enjoy! ✨ 📍 Nickel Plate Trail (116th St.), Fishers, IN 🎨 @dutchboypaints #indyartscene #fishersmurals #indianamurals #art #indianapolisartist taken in Nickel Plate Trail Fishers by @ilovephy

🔹✨ INDIANA LEGENDS ✨🔹 Last weekend at Bicentennial Unity Plaza, we unveiled the completed mural to celebrate 43 legendary Hoosiers. It was a great honor to serve as an apprentice on this project. This mural was personal for me. I grew up knowing two legends: Congresswoman Julia Carson & Father Boniface Hardin. Art is always something I give as an expression of love and gratitude. So to work on a project that commemorates them and others was a full circle moment, privilege, and honor. slides: • Final Mural 👏🏾 • @annapmurphy and I 🥰 • Dedication day with guests • Jumped in the picture w/some legendary people. • my Grandma & @andrechronicles 💙 Family🫶🏾 • ✌🏾 • Thank yous To learn more about this project, catch the highlight for recap and visit the link in my bio! #art #artoftheday #muralart #indymurals #indyartist #indyart #indyartscene #muralist #gainbridgefieldhouse #pacers #indianapolis #indianapolisart #indianaart #indianamurals #bicentennialunityplaza #hoosier taken in Gainbridge Fieldhouse by @ilovephy

Having vision for creativity is not only important from a philosophical point of view, but physically, I need to see too! I recently booked an eye exam with @raopticians located at the @factoryartsdistrict and absolutely loved my experience. From booking the appointment to payment post exam—it was a seamless process. Their selection of eyewear is unique and unlike anything here in Indy! ✨🏜️ M O O N • V A L L E Y 🏜️✨ Y’all. I’m still in awe I hosted my first solo exhibition. 🤯 I am legit happy with how everything went. From the start, my intentions with this show was to introduce myself as an artist. It was about breaking away from perfectionism, shedding unrealistic expectations, and finding my creative voice through the process. I found breakthrough by giving myself permission to just have fun! And I wanted to share that with everyone else. I wanted people to come out, grab some bites, drink, meet new folks, and vibe out over the art + music. I was very intentional about every aspect of the exhibition and it was well received by the community! A little over 150 of you all attended throughout the night—most of which I’ve never met before. 🥲 I’m still receiving so many compliments about how @iamdjladylocs did such an amazing job adding to the vibes with the music. 🤌🏾✨ And @primevuestudio did a great job capturing SO many highlights from the night. It was too many to fit into one post. 🥲 Moon Valley is 1 out of 5 series God has given me over the span of a 10+ year period and I’ve been documenting the visions as I receive them. Yall, there’s SO much to share….and do…and I’m SO excited I get to continue this work. My heart is full and I’m really grateful God trusted me with such a beautiful gift to share with others. I do not take this calling lightly. 😭 Be sure to visit my website to acquire an original painting from the Moon Valley series. Many of you requested prints in addition to originals. Stay tuned because that’ll be in the works. 😉 I’m excited to do this again soon ! 😘 Until next time ✌🏾+ 🤍 #soloartexhibition #art #artbyphy #indyartist #indyartscene #indianapolisartist #indianapolisart #blackart #blackartistoninstagram #blackartists #supportblackart #supportblackartists #artexhibition #emergingartist #emergingartists #emergingblackartist taken in Factory Arts District by @ilovephy
