This dream has been 16 years in the making, but I am finally on my way to Law school! This next chapter of my life would not be possible with out all of those who have supported me along the way!💖

To my family (now, yall know there are too many of yall to tag, but just know that I love you more than life itself). Thank you all for always asking about me and for creating me into the woman I am today. If it were not for all of you, I would not have the opportunity to chase my dreams in the capacity that I do now.

To my friends, my ride or dies, my sisters from another life @rileyyycarpenter, and @jaelynjenkins,you have saved me from myself more than you know. 9th grade Imari would not have known what to do with herself if it were not for you guys. Thank you for staying by my side even when I was being a little extra and for loving me for me. I may be moving but distance will never stop our friendship and just remember that I am always a phone call away.

To my parents @kosciakennon and my dad who does not have Instagram, thank you! When people ask me how I do the things that I do my answer is always "I have a bald headed daddy and my momma is Lakoscia" because without you I know I would be totally lost. It is your help, guidance,and wisdom that has lead me to this moment. Your sacrifices for me have not gone unnoticed even if I don't say it enough. I love you and I appreciate you.

To my siblings @d_l_cam @notdamonn @that__cousin. Yall are my spirit and soul and I am going to miss you more than I will ever admit. Thank you for laughing with me, crying with me, trusting me and loving me. We may be family but I know in another life we were also friends. I love yall.

Last but certainly not least to God! Thank you for allowing me to follow in my purpose through a passion you put in my heart. I will always remember that I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me!

I could write a million more thank yous and trust me I have them but unfortunately Instagram has a word limit. So to all I was not able to mention individually thank you. Your favor, prayers and support do not go unnoticed or unappreciated.

The long awaited pictures from the time I got to meet @kamalaharris are finally here. I will remember this moment for the rest of my life. Getting to meet the first woman to hold the office of Vice President of the United States as someone who has always dreamed of being involved in law and government in a monumental way, currently in my 2nd year of law school and contiuning to chase my big dreams this was a once in a life time experience I am grateful to have had the opportunity to take. #kamalaharris #bigsistergeneralharris

Words cannot describe how it feels to live in an answered pray and to have a physical momento to commemorate all of the early mornings, long nights, tears and more. I am so incredibly thankful to everyone who has continued to pour into me as I have journeyed through law school. For the past two years I have had the honor of receiving Cali awards and being named a New England Scholar. I have never been passionate about anything the way that I am passionate about being an attorney and now I am just two semesters and one bar exam away from accomplishing that goal! Thank you God for carrying through every trial and tribulation on the road to my life long dream and for allowing my heart to remain joyful through it all. In Jesus name, Amen!

Providing tools to succeed academically is only the half of the job. A huge part of law school I think no one is truly open about is how much other people's expectations can weigh on you. Being a mentor is more than helping someone reach their desired goal. It is also about being uplifting in a way that makes someone believe in themselves enough to encourage someone else. As the BLSA Academic Chair the message I hope to leave once I graduate is that everyone remembers if somebody can do it that somebody can be you! Remember it costs you nothing to be kind!

The only hairstylists who have ever done anything to my hair my whole life have been related to me. As someone with natural curly hair, the health of my hair has always been my priority. I speant years afraid of salons that considered my hair "too difficult" to manage not wanting to risk damaging my hair and electing to just maintain it on my own. My curly hair has always been a huge part of my identity which is why I have chosen to wear it in its natural state for nearly ever important event in my life, graduation, large events, and even while I was competing in pageants. But recently I decided to do some research and try something new. I have never colored my hair before so this was a huge step for me. Finding the right stylist who would be understanding of my nervousness, be able to educate me in how to maintain the health of my hair after the color and be able to apply the color without damaging my curls was very important to me and let's just say @divinecurlz.co checked every box! If you are a curly girl looking to have someone educate you on how to maintain your hair, color it style it and provide a 10/10 experience you have to book with @divinecurlz.co! She single handedly broke me of my fear of salons and I am so happy with how my hair turned out. Thank you Julie you're the best! by @imariaharris

The next time I am working full time I will be an Attorney! That is such a crazy thing to say. Five years old Imari would be beaming knowing that she finally got to speak in court, sit on a trial and argue her own motions in misdemeanor AND felony court. This summer has been so exciting. My time as a CLI has truly been one for the books and I am so endlessly grateful for my time in SAO2.

Yesterday I hosted @behindthe.brief first live event! The conclusion of the summer series What the 1L was a live webinar where four panelist (2 current Law Students and 2 Attorneys) spoke about everything from common misconceptions about 1L to how to prepare for your first set of exams.
