Behind the making - Every rug begins long before installation. This piece was developed through sampling, color refinement, and months of hand knotting before reaching its final form.⁠
⁠
Made in our India atelier, the rug was knotted at 80 knots per square inch using New Zealand wool and Tencel, then carefully hand finished along its irregular perimeter.⁠
⁠
From the first sample to the final trimming, each stage of production is guided by the same goal: translating a designer’s vision into textile form.⁠

The full composition - This custom rug was created for a private residence in La Jolla, developed alongside Mark Stocker Design as the central textile element within the primary living space.⁠

The design explores scale and movement through an irregular perimeter. Hand knotted in New Zealand wool and Tencel with three custom dyed colors, the piece measures 14’ × 18’.⁠

This custom rug was developed for a private residence in La Jolla, CA in collaboration with Mark Stocker Design. The piece was designed as a large scale foundation for the primary living space, where subtle color shifts and texture needed to feel intentional from every vantage point.⁠

Hand knotted in New Zealand wool and Tencel with an 8mm pile height, the surface was finished with a smooth, uninterrupted pile to allow the pattern to move fluidly across the rug.⁠

Wool fibers are dyed in lots, hand woven knot by knot, then carefully trimmed, washed, and finished by our artisans. Each step is deliberate, and each detail considered, so the final piece feels as thoughtful as the story behind it. by @imarugs

We truly enjoyed creating this rug alongside Molly Torres Portnof of @dateinteriors. A deeply personal nursery piece designed for her daughter’s first space.⁠
