3rd time seeing @musicbyknox this is guy reminds me of Max from @eve6 with his clever lyrics but his voice is all his own. Always kills it! He’ll be playing the @theanthemdc sooner than later that’s for sure

25 years ago, 9/11 happened.

I remember driving to a friend’s house in DC and seeing smoke in the sky. My car radio was reporting that two planes had hit the World Trade Center—a place I had been just one week earlier for my internship with Epic 355/Sony Records. It didn’t feel real.

The next night, I had tickets to see @litbandofficial and @handsomedevilband at the @930club. I was sure the show would be canceled.

Then I heard @dc101radio announce that Lit was still playing. They refused to let terrorism win.

The show had sold out. Only 12 people showed up.

But Lit played like the room was packed.

1000% energy. For two hours, we laughed, sang, and escaped the reality of what had just happened to our country.

After the show, we sat with the band for almost an hour talking about where everyone was when they heard the news and about refusing to live our lives in fear.

I almost didn’t go that night. I was terrified. But I heard @ajaypopoff say on the radio, “We won’t let them win.”

So I went.

25 years later, I still think about that night and what those words meant to me.

Thank you to the brave men and women who protect us, save lives, and put themselves in harm’s way every day.

And thank you to the musicians who give us something we sometimes don’t realize we need until we need it most—an escape, a connection, and a reminder to keep living.

Never forget. 🇺🇸
