I love trimming! I get to refine the form while thinking about all the new things that I can make from the excess. And yes, I use different clays and don’t worry about keeping them separate for the recycling. taken in Roanoke, Virginia by @imc_clay

Lots of different techniques came together to make this piece — but what’s new for me is the function. I don’t often make this kind of object, so it was fun stretching into unfamiliar territory. Any guesses what it is? 👇 taken in Roanoke, Virginia by @imc_clay

Join me July 25th and 26th at the beautiful @kettle_creek_pottery for a two-day workshop dedicated to texture, pattern, and stamp-making. Day 1 will focus on crafting your own texture tools, and on Day 2 we’ll put them to use creating pieces designed to hold light — candleholders and luminaries. Spots are limited — reserve yours today. taken in Roanoke, Virginia by @imc_clay
