“Whimsy Hour”; ✅✨🌲

Another amazing Edgefest in the books 🖤✨

I look forward to this event every year; it’s honestly my favorite. I know I’m going to have fun with all my friends while seeing some amazing artists and getting to work alongside them 🙏
I got to hug so many good people today and saw so many smiles. I’m sunburnt and satisfied in my soul 🖤
Thank you to everyone who came out and supported, cheered me on, and gave me love today on my piece. It heals another piece of me every single time I get to receive it ✨

This past Friday was the opening of Divine Masculine at @goodyeararts curated by @onlyfromem and @molocinus 🖤❤️

I got to be alongside 40 or so other artists and create a piece and poem with a prompt that feels necessary to highlight and discuss, even more so with current headlines.

Everyone did a phenomenal job, and I enjoyed the reflection and feelings that came with each piece I spent time in front of. So many different viewpoints and experiences I am grateful I got to bear witness to and discuss with some of the their creators. I’m never going to get over being in rooms and shows like these 🥹

So I got to do a really cool thing this week 🥹✨🔮

@spectrumcenter reached out wanting to give a little gift of The Carolinas to @phoebebridgers and asked if I would create a set of custom oracle cards incorporating Charlotte and Phoebes aesthetic ✨🔮

This was a dream commission for me, and the type of stuff I want to be doing for the rest of my life. Freely creating art for another artist that has inspired me and my moody girl aesthetic for years and years.

From sketch to final product, I enjoyed the whole process. This was my first time touching my gouache since the car fire, and it felt like coming back to myself, to an old friend. It took me back to days during the pandemic, painting all day, listening to @phoebebridgers on rainy days drinking coffee and feeling all the feels. It’s truly wild and the greatest blessing to see where I am now. 🖤✨

Meet Melisandre the Mazda ♥️

We did it. 🥹
I say we, because I wouldn’t have been able to do this without every single person that helped me out when I needed it the most. You all showed up for me like family, and I will never forget that.

Thank you for helping me get back on my feet, and holding space for me while I navigate all my new normals. I am able to get back up and dust myself off with more grace because of community. Truly, thank you. 🫂

This has been a crazy few months, but I am so fucking lucky. ♥️

The Night Does Not Belong To God
It belongs to us 🖤🫂

Forever wandering the streets of Charleston with you, loving you, celebrating with you. Remembering it all until the night surrounds us and it feels like the first night 11 years ago, and time doesn’t exist 🖤

The birthday trip every year is something I look forward to. To reminisce about my mom, to take a break from the grind I’m always grinding, to be able to breathe and laugh in a safe place with the people I call family. To enjoy life.

I am so lucky to still hold my mom’s best-friends close to my heart, to still have them in my life, to be able to call them my friends, my family, my home. There is so much of my childhood now that I just tell as stories to people, and it’s beautiful feeling to be able to not tell a story as new, but reminisce with the people who did it with you. To also hear stories about my mom before I existed and about how they experienced her is a part of these trips every year that is a great joy to me, and I’m always so overjoyed when I learn something new, finding another piece of my mom, even after transition. Makes her feel relevant, helps the grief feel held. 🫂
She was everywhere this weekend, from the butterflies to the feathers to the spilled drinks she claimed from us all for her share 🤣🍻🫂

This weekend my community said “I got you” and I am truly eternally thankful that I get to be supported by such amazing people.
To everyone who showed up in person, sent me love, bought art, donated, gave art/products to the auction; thank you from the deepest part of my heart.
I will be able to have wheels again because of each and every one of you. 😭
The thought has moved me to tears many times this month as this benefit has unfolded. I’ve really been a puddle, but a wonderfully grateful puddle.

I love you all, and thank you for holding and supporting me in so many ways through a very crazy life event. You guys have made it so it seems like a hill, and not a mountain. 🖤🫂 taken in Divine Barrel Brewing by @imhereforplants_
