Spirit Week Day 2: Pajama Day! Comfy fits, matching sets, and double takes all day! Our scholars brought their favorite pajamas to the halls of Tep, and so many were twinning that Pajama Day practically became Twin Day! From cozy onesies to coordinated crews, our Imhotepians showed up with plenty of personality and school spirit. And swipe to the end… Elder Baba Lonnie wasn’t about to let the scholars have ALL the spotlight! 😂 #Imhotep #TepSpiritWeek #PajamaDay #Twinning #PantherPride by @imhotephs

A NEW CHAPTER BEGINS Last week, our freshman scholars participated in our annual Rites of Passage Separation Ceremony, a powerful African-centered tradition marking the beginning of their transformation into the young leaders they are destined to become. During this meaningful ceremony, our scholars reflected on the habits, mindsets, fears, and behaviors they no longer wished to carry into their high school journey. Each scholar wrote down what they were choosing to leave behind and symbolically tore those words apart, making a conscious commitment to growth, accountability, and personal transformation. The ceremony culminated in one of its most powerful moments: walking through the Door of No Return. This symbolic passage represents a defining decision. The life they lived before this moment is behind them. As they step through the door, they embrace a new chapter rooted in purpose, discipline, responsibility, and excellence. This ceremony is a commitment to self-discovery, cultural identity, and the values that define the Imhotep experience. We extend our deepest gratitude to our principals, Mama Dr. Jury and Baba Dr. Ira, for their unwavering support of our scholars and their development, and to our CEO, Baba Andre, for his continued leadership and vision. A special thank you to our dedicated Rites of Passage educators, Mama Dr. Vieira and Brother Massie, for their commitment to organizing this meaningful experience and guiding our scholars through this important transition, as well as Elder Baba Lonnie for powerfully guiding and leading these young scholars on their journey. We also recognize @favors_with_style for the beautiful decorations and thoughtful setup that brought the ceremony to life. And to the parents and families who joined us, thank you for standing beside your scholars as they begin this transformative journey. Your presence reminds them that while their path toward adulthood requires personal responsibility, they never walk it alone. To our newest Imhotepians: The past has taught you. The future is calling you. Walk forward with Nia, and never forget who you are becoming. by @imhotephs
IMHOTEP SHOWS UP WITH HEART! Our Imhotepians stepped outside the classroom and into the community today for the American Heart Association’s Heart Walk in Philadelphia! From our scholars and staff to our proud alumni, the Imhotep family came together to raise awareness about heart health, promote healthy living, and demonstrate the power of community service. We were proudly represented by members of our Wellness Team, Mama Nurse Ann and Mama Mimi, alongside our Director of Student Services, Mama Niesha, and our 11th Grade Team Lead and Mock Trial Coach Brother Ryan. Our Legal Panthers Mock Trial Team also showed up in support of this important cause, alongside several of our Songhai VII, class of 6267 scholars. A special shoutout to Nubia VII alum Heaven (6266), who continues to shine as a scholar and cheerleader at La Salle University! We love seeing our graduates representing Imhotepian excellence beyond Imhotep! Throughout the event, our scholars had the opportunity to participate in hands-on CPR demonstrations, learn more about heart health, and connect with members of the Philadelphia community. At Imhotep, SBA to HEKA means we believe education extends beyond the classroom. We strive to develop scholars who understand that leadership is not just about personal achievement, but also about showing up, giving back, and making a difference in the lives of others. #imhotep #americanredcross #heartwalk #sba #citizensbankpark by @imhotephs

🏀NBA STARS PULL UP TO IMHOTEP! Today was nothing short of SPECIAL at Imhotep Institute Charter High School! We had the incredible honor of welcoming Philadelphia 76ers stars Jaylen Brown, Tacko Fall, and our very own Imhotep graduate, Justin Edwards, back to Imhotep Nation for an unforgettable afternoon of inspiration, motivation, and celebration! And they didn’t just come to talk. THEY CAME TO HOOP! Our scholars watched these incredible athletes take the court for some exciting one-on-one basketball action with members of our Imhotep basketball program, creating memories that will last a lifetime! But the day was about so much more than basketball. A special congratulations to Blessin Morris and Ava Hargrove, our two 12th grade scholars, who were surprised with Philadelphia 76ers tickets in recognition of their outstanding academic achievements! Our very own 12th-grade Student Support Facilitator, Sister Kendra, was also presented with a signed jersey for how she goes above and beyond for each and every scholar! Beyond the pictures, basketball, and incredible surprises, our guests delivered powerful words of encouragement, reminding our scholars of the importance of believing in themselves, working hard, and pursuing their dreams. And perhaps the most powerful part of the day was watching Justin Edwards return to the very school where his journey began, now standing before the next generation of Panthers as living proof of what’s possible. FROM IMHOTEP TO THE NBA AND BACK HOME. Thank you to Jaylen Brown, Tacko Fall, and Justin Edwards for pouring into our scholars and reminding them that greatness is within their reach! And thank you to the incredible @glamarstewartsr and his amazing non-profit @wearetaylormadephilly for making this whole day possible. #imhotep #PantherPride #JustinEdwards #JaylenBrown #sixers by @imhotephs

The future is looking bright at Imhotep Institute Charter High School! This week, our scholars took another exciting step toward their futures during our Annual Post-Secondary Transition Fair! With representatives from more than 40 colleges, universities, and branches of the military, our scholars had the opportunity to explore pathways beyond graduation, connect directly with admissions representatives, ask important questions, and discover the possibilities waiting for them after high school. From exploring college programs and career opportunities to celebrating college acceptances, the day was filled with excitement, ambition, and Panther Pride! A special thank you to Mama Michelle Wilson for coordinating this incredible event and bringing so many opportunities directly to our scholars. We also extend our appreciation to every college, university, and military representative who invested their time in helping our young people envision their next chapter. #ImhotepInstitute #PantherPride #CollegeAndCareerReady #PostSecondarySuccess #CollegeBound by @imhotephs
HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA? THAT’S JUST THE BEGINNING! At Imhotep, we don’t just prepare scholars for college. We create pathways for them to get a head start! To start the school year, our Imhotep family gathered for the Baba Joe Foster Dual Enrollment Middle College Ceremony, celebrating nine exceptional scholars selected for an extraordinary academic opportunity: the chance to earn a FREE associate’s degree before receiving their high school diplomas! Selection into this prestigious program is no small accomplishment. Scholars undergo a rigorous process that considers academic achievement, attendance, assessments, recommendations, interviews, and their readiness to embrace the challenges of college-level coursework. But this ceremony represented something even greater than academic achievement: it represented the power of the Village. During the ceremony, scholars and their families joined together in a Village Pledge, committing to accountability, academic excellence, communication, and the collective responsibility of supporting each scholar’s success. We also proudly honored the legacy of Baba Joseph T. Foster, whose commitment to education, leadership, mentorship, and service continues to create opportunities for future generations of Imhotep scholars. To our nine newly inducted scholars: Your journey will demand discipline, determination, and sacrifice. But you were selected because we believe in your ability to rise to the challenge. Your future isn’t waiting until graduation. You’re building it RIGHT NOW! Congratulations to our scholars, their families, and everyone helping make this incredible opportunity possible! They walked in as scholars. They walked out wearing the responsibility of what comes next. To start off the new school year, Imhotep Institute Charter High School proudly celebrated the induction of our 2026–2027 STEM Ambassadors and Global Changemakers during our White Coat Ceremony, an evening honoring scholarship, leadership, innovation, and global impact. The white coat represents more than achievement. It represents responsibility. Our scholars are preparing to enter spaces in science, technology, engineering, mathematics, research, medicine, and innovation where their ideas, leadership, and voices will help shape the future. Surrounded by families, educators, community leaders, and one another, our scholars stepped forward to accept that challenge and the expectations that come with it. This is what it looks like when young people are not simply asked what they want to become. They are given opportunities to begin becoming it now. Congratulations to our newest STEM Ambassadors and Global Changemakers. Wear those coats with pride. The future has work for you to do. Challenge Your Limits. #Imhotep #STEMAmbassadors #WhiteCoatCeremony #STEMEducation #GlobalChangemakers by @imhotephs
