I had the incredible privilege to emcee the 2022 @UN_stereotypealliance Summit at the United Nations!

As a founding ally member of the #UNstereotypeAlliance with @UNwomen, we are a consortium of brands, agencies and partners working to Unsteretoype our media, marketing, advertising, and workforce worldwide.

This year’s theme was #RaisingTheBar and I had the honor to interview some incredible folks doing just that - including @AlyRaisman whose voice has been so poignant in the #MeToo movement speaking out about her experience with sexual assault.

And I created conversations with brands like @aerie who continue to evolve the conversation around body neutrality and body literacy.

Was also blown away by an intimate conversation with @DanaiGurira about her roots as a storyteller, truthsayer, playwright and of course actress (hello #WakandaForever)

Today is my best friend @kensmith4040 ‘s birthday 🎂 🎉🥂

Partners in shopping and social activism since we were 19. We have been through thousands of ups and downs, losses, big wins, growth spurts, and silliness that brought us to tears.

If you know Ken, you love him. It’s that simple.
He’s a brilliant strategist, builder, and leader.
And he’s an even better friend, son, husband, and dog papa.

So many different things can be true at one time.

You could’ve grown up with labels that haunted you for most of your life only to realize those labels were the stepping stones you needed to find your true authentic self.

Your heart can break from grief and then come back to life and fall in love with the work you started 31 years ago just by speaking a little bit more truth to thousands of girls who need to hear it.

You can find joy, sisterhood, and support from a community of strangers, who soon become friends. Reminding you of the whimsy of girlhood and how it is a season to be celebrated.

In a difficult business climate, you can find the exact right partner who reminds you that your mission in this life is bigger than you thought.

You could doubt your ability as a leader and then discover that you love to lead when you’ve got the right people around you, this makes all the difference.

And decades later, you might find a random stranger at a party, who once performed in the plays that you wrote in college and be reminded of how many lives you’ve lived and how much you long to create like that again.

This is a love letter to our new partners @girlscouts and to all the girls and women who’ve been told they were too much and not enough.

🎭 Lit up my passion for performing and storytelling by creating and acting out elaborate bedtime stories where you always played the big, bad wolf.

❤️ Loved my mama for 60 years and created with her a loving, silly family unit filled with a strong moral center, a commitment to be good world citizens, and the unwavering belief in our dreams.

🤩Is the most loyal and loving “papa” to his grandkids and grand animals, and for the development of your alter ego “Darcy” who loves some good gossip and will tolerate a spontaneous mall outing like a champ. You are the original girl dad and you done good.

💸 Fiercely protects the financial wellness of my business as CFO, a role we created for you in retirement but you’ve never really retired - you are the best invoice chaser and protector - and most of all you have been the wind beneath my wings as an entrepreneur for 30 years - it’s not for the faint of heart- and I’m glad I don’t have to soldier that alone.

🍞Is the OG French toast king, serving up deliciousness for all of our birthdays and special occasions.

At 81, you are facing a new chapter of your journey and we’ll all be there by your side, loving you as intensely as you’ve loved us and believing in your ability to adapt and meet this moment.

You taught us how to take on the world.
And we are.
