I’m so grateful for everything @project.resurgence has helped me with over the last two years. I started off so nervous and lacking confidence after my first knee injury and after starting dance so much later than all my friends. Project Resurgence has helped me improve so much as a dancer and also as a person. I love every single friend I’ve made and all the fun we have had together! I’m so grateful for all the opportunities it has given me and I have literally loved every second of the past two years here 🩵✨

@howlyballet thank you for everything you have helped me with and thank you for always believing in me! I can’t wait to hopefully get back doing your pirouette combinations in a while 💪💥
(and maybe dressed as a hippo?)

@resurgence_kay I don’t know what I’d do without you, thank you for always being there for me and all the hugs! You’re pretty much my therapist at this point 😂🩵

I’ll miss being at Project Resurgence for the next few months, but I know I’ll hopefully be back and able to dance at some point.
Time to have a holiday then focus on surgery, recovery and then coming back stronger 🤍💫

A lot of people know that I’ve been struggling with my knees for 3 years now. Mentally and physically it has been the biggest challenge, especially as my dream is to be a professional aerialist and dancer.

Recently, I fully dislocated my left knee after already having multiple problems with both my knees before. After many appointments and discussions, my specialists have decided that the best option for me and my future would be to have surgery on both of my knees.

This has been probably the hardest few weeks I’ve been through and I know there is a very difficult journey ahead of me. At the end of August I’m going to be having double knee surgery to give me one last chance at being able to pursue my dream career. This is going to be a long process and a long rehab time but this is my only option if I want to carry on working towards my dream.

I’m so grateful to everyone who has helped me recently and everyone who is believing in me to get through this and be back even better and stronger than before ❤️‍🩹

Thank you so much to everyone @myaerialhome and @airdanceamandamiles for all you help and advice and always inspiring me. I’ll be back in a year, even better than ever 💪❤️

I have NEWS!! 💌

After 7 weeks of walking with my legs locked straight, we’ve finally made it to having them fully unlocked all day!!
I was absolutely TERRIFIED that my legs were just going to collapse as soon as I stood up but so far so good which shows that all those hours off physio I’ve done already has paid off 🤭

AND… I can finally wear trainers again!! It feels SO weird after nearly 2 months without them, but even that feels like an achievement 🤣

This is the first step of relearning how to walk, and I’m SO happy I’ve made it to this day ❤️‍🩹

Sooo many more challenges to come, but for the first time since surgery, I’m actually starting to get excited about what’s ahead!!

Week 7 recovery diaries ❤️‍🩹

What a week!! I’ve found this week really mentally and physically challenging. We’ve completely unlocked my braces, including for walking, so this week has mostly been focused on relearning to walk again.

Mentally, this week has been so challenging because I’ve had to overcome challenges that I’ve feared since day 1. I’ve barely been on my phone this week and haven’t replied to a lot of messages because sometimes I just don’t have the energy to talk about how I’m feeling or explain everything that’s going on. At the moment if someone asks me how I am, I will just cry 🤣🤣

The next month is going to be crazy and I’m absolutely terrified but at the moment I’m just trying to take it day by day and take every challenge as it comes 🤍

Week 6 recovery diaries ❤️‍🩹

This week has been SOO much more positive!! I’ve now finally got to 90° ROM which anyone that’s had knee ligament surgery knows how big of an achievement that feels 💪🏼 We also had a ✨perspective shift✨ thanks to @axis.bylauren so now if I get asked how I’m doing, I’m doing better than 6 weeks ago 🫶🏼

But my highlight of the week was definitely getting back to visit my favourite place, @project.resurgence and seeing all my favourite people 🩷

Can’t wait to keep moving onwards and upwards and the next challenge of learning to walk 🤍✨
