Grief Is An Impending Wave

Grief is a wave on my horizon
An oceans worth of water
I do not know with what force it will crash
Cannot tell how close its rolling mass

I shake in its shadow
Know that it will not be gentle
That there is no shelter to take

I used to dream of tsunamis
Watch them roll in on the horizons of my sleep
Feet locked still Terror swirling in the pit of my stomach

I will it to be over already
For the water to slam Knock me down
So I know what it is to bare its weight
But when it crashes
She will be gone
And I want nothing to do with that day

So all I can do is imagine the force
And try not to watch it coming
