The proximity of the Local Government to the grassroots makes it indispensable to effective service delivery, inclusive development, and the implementation of policies that directly impact citizens. For this reason, I hold Local Government in high esteem.

In my keynote address as Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) at the ALGON General Assembly in Abuja, I reminded members of their critical role in translating government policies into tangible benefits for the people at the grassroots.

I also acknowledged their support for the #RenewedHope administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, which remains vital to advancing our shared development agenda. I urge them to sustain this commitment and strengthen grassroots governance for a more prosperous Nigeria.

The transformation of the popular Douglas Road, Owerri, is nothing short of impressive. The aftermath showcases how intentional infrastructure development can enhance not only road functionality but also the overall aesthetics of a city.

Douglas Road is taking on a new identity, with improved road infrastructure designed to support the daily movement of motorists, residents, and traders. From the daytime hustle to the city’s vibrant nightlife, the transformation brings a new dimension to one of Owerri’s busiest commercial corridors.

Special recognition goes to the Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma (ONWA OYOKO), and the Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ralph Nwosu, for overseeing this project, executed by CraneBurg Construction.

Infrastructure does shape the identity of a city.

Uzodimma Hails Massive North-Central Support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda Ahead of 2027

In Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State, the people of North-Central Nigeria spoke with one loud and unmistakable voice: the continuation of the #RenewedHope Administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. His leadership continues to translate policies and reforms into tangible deliverables that advance the progress, prosperity, and well-being of our people.

The North-Central APC Mega Rally, organised by the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network for Tinubu and Shettima 2027, was a powerful demonstration of the people’s love, appreciation, and support for President Tinubu’s transformative drive across the nation.

The massive show of solidarity reflects growing confidence in his vision and commitment to national development. With this resounding support, we are confident of securing victory across the North-Central zone as we look ahead to the 2027 Presidential Election.

I commend the gallantry of our security agencies over the successful rescue of the 20 prospective Corps Members who were abducted along the Onitsha–Owerri Road while on their way to their respective States of service.

While crime may never be completely eradicated, we have continued to strengthen our security architecture and intelligence network across the State to forestall criminal activities and facilitate swift rescue operations where necessary.

I remain grateful to the Federal Government and the Oyo State Government for their collaboration and support in this all-important assignment. To the glory of God, our security agencies pulled through.

I also commend the families and relatives of the prospective Corps Members for their patience, resilience and faith throughout the operation. I urge our people to demonstrate the same faith and support our security agencies in the discharge of their duties.

I joined the Director General of our party’s Presidential Campaign Council, Sen. Abdul’aziz Yari and other distinguished leaders of our great party at the APC Women Stakeholders’ Mobilisation and Empowerment Pre-Inaugural Summit, held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Center (BATICC).

As our great party intensifies efforts to canvass for votes ahead of the 2027 elections, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s impactful leadership continues to garner widespread support across the nation, particularly as his administration remains focused on addressing critical national challenges.

I therefore call on Nigerians to sustain their support for the President and rally behind his administration for the continued transformation of our nation.

The foundation for achieving a society where every citizen has the opportunity to thrive and where development and progress are sustained for generations to come is laid in the classroom, where teachers, through knowledge, character and discipline, shape the minds and values that define our society.

On this auspicious occasion of Teachers’ Day, I, on behalf of the Government and the good people of Imo State, celebrate our teachers, whose dedication, sacrifice and commitment to shaping our future generations remain invaluable.

As a Government, we remain committed to the welfare, professional growth, and continuous development of our teachers. We shall continue to prioritise education, strengthen the institutions that support our teachers, and ensure that their dedication is matched with the recognition, dignity, and support they deserve.

Happy Teachers’ Day to our esteemed teachers.
