For some children, the first lesson isn’t the alphabet. It’s learning that their bodies need daily care to stay alive. That’s life with Type 1 Diabetes.

Through Heart of Ekiiira’s Insulin Support Program, we’re working to give 2,000 children and young adults free, reliable access to insulin and glucose monitoring supplies.

Our first milestone is to reach 250 children, and it’s live on Crowdr right now.

When I was in the classroom, the first people to back my students were not people I knew. They were people online who saw what I was doing and decided to show up.

When I started my NGO, the same thing happened. Strangers became supporters, and supporters became funding for the women I was empowering.

And now that I help NGOs and brands get seen, some of my best clients found me through a post.
Same tool, three different seasons of my life. Each time, the doors opened because someone saw the work.

Here’s what I’ve learned: good work that nobody sees can’t grow. Visibility doesn’t make you loud, it makes you findable. The right people can’t support what they don’t know exists.

So if you’ve been sitting back thinking “maybe it’s not the time,” this is your sign. Start showing up. Share the work, tell the story, and let people find you.

For everyone waiting to “be ready” before you start, this is your reminder: start anyway.

Impact Padi started just 4 months ago with a broken LED light. 😂

Last week, while shooting our promotional videos, we paused and realised just how much has changed in these few months.

The team. The work. The confidence. The things we can do now that we couldn’t do when we started.

And it reminded me that sometimes, you don’t need everything figured out before you begin. You just need to take the first step and keep building from there.

So if there’s something you’ve been thinking about, don’t overthink it. Start.

From script to shoot to final edit, it’s always rewarding seeing an idea come together and make its way out into the world, especially when the goal is to inform, educate, and make important healthcare conversations feel a little more accessible.
