My coach said threshold, what I heard was punishment. This dance was consolation for the shege I witnessed on this run. Oh well…🤷🏾‍♀️

Ended last week with a 6km run. My body is slowly remembering how to run again. I’m starting to feel like myself again. My coach was right afterall.

Somade asked me to make this a post. So let’s do that.

I didn’t meet @imperfectpace as a runner. I met her as a director meeting her line producer for the first time when we came together to make this film. I also met @harriet_wonder my 5 star general who was my AD (read as chief whip) on the same set

We fought through unstable weathers, masquerade runs, and a tiny budget to make this film that has now been selected to screen in London at the film Africa festival.

We found ourselves again in running as if filmmaking wasn’t torture enough.

The people you make films with go on to become families. I think. Genuinely grateful for my girls. Thank you for holding down the forte.

You have my heart forever. Forever.

So, world, here is our baby. The child we all birthed together. by @imperfectpace

Run 6 of my #StartingAgain series and for the first time in a long time, I felt like myself. By far the fastest I’ve run since d I resumed but equally the easiest, most comfortable and most fun. No need for plenty talk, the video says it all.

PS: is this how Stella felt when she got her groove back?

PPS: @officialchinyereudoma is a staple across all my playlists 🤭 IYKYK

A shitty run, they say, is better than no run.
1% better everyday.

I couldn’t go for a run today, I had to find solace on the mat.

PS: The real caption is on the second slide.

Today’s goal was simple. Easy run. 40 minutes. Alas, the easy run was not easy.

Slowly but surely. 1% better every day.

PS: @heisrema actually did a madness with this song.

Coach says before long I’ll get back to my fitness level and I honestly can’t wait. Until then, I’ll keep showing up and putting in my work. 1% better everyday.
.
Don let this dance fool you, this run was had, uncomfortable and painful. Despite how hard this run was, I found myself and having the best time during and after the run. Another proof that two things can coexist
.
PS: I can’t trade my running playlist for anything!!!

This run was not meant to happen. Why? Well, because…

1. I set out very late
2. It started raining as soon as I started running
3. Muscle strain hit me 10 minutes into the run

All signs to have turned back and gone home. Alas, I set out to run for 40 minutes and I did exactly that, through pains, discomfort, and everything in between.

This run that almost didn’t happen taught me that:

1. Runners are the most thoughtful people.
2. One month away from running didn’t take away my stubbornness and resilience.
3. The running community is never beating the allegation of being the community with the most heart.

@gr8nssglobal1 I can’t thank you enough. You reminded me of the heart that exist within the running community. God bless you.

No, this is not a throwback video. I actually went for a run last night for the first time in over a month.

If someone had told me that I would not run for an entire month, I would have doubted that person but alas, here we are. Here I am, returning to this thing I really like, slowly and steadily.

Thanks to everyone who reached out especially @strides_and_beyond 🫂. I don’t take any of it for granted.

For no other reason than stubbornness, @dej_in_motion and I laced our running shoes and hit the streets by 10:41pm.

My running shoes were uncomfortable but we powered through. It ended up being a beautiful run! I sang at the top of my lungs to my Spotify playlist!(if you know, you know😉) and had the much needed escape from work, stress and everything in between.
