Week 36. Took myself on a date to @lymanorchards and sat in my car, eating a honeycrisp apple with the wind blowing and John Denver was playing. Took my coffee and a friend on the phone on a walk in the park. Coffee shop chats with dear friends and salsa recipes from family. Trivia, Star Wars background art, Star Trek DS9 season… seven, is it?? Good things were very good.

The bad wasn’t so bad. Job applications and a lot of work, a LOT of work. Worst thing to happen this week might have been waking up with a neck/shoulder spasm that’s lasted more than 48 hours. Makes me grateful, but at what cost??

“End of summer” smacking like 🌊 Scroll to the end for a delight

Coming back to New Haven and eager to share my weeks a little more :) I have been gifted such beautiful and incredible friends and family. It’s been such a treat, even in difficult or overwhelming times (and damn if these aren’t overwhelming times), to learn from and grow with those around me.

If you’re curious- I went from having two jobs to now having five part time employers and three creative projects. I got my first flat tire. I’ve moved back to New Haven for the fall, and am trying to settle— but I have too much JUNK, and too many spindly plants, and the kitchen is never clean. Looking for ways to settle the chaos and deload, and all the while, my friends have been supporting me - sometimes in ways they don’t notice. Y’all would be surprised :)

I hope you’re grounding too, and finding moments of calm. I hope we all get to bed early tonight under fresh sheets!!!! (Unless you’re partying, and in which case, boogie on my behalf.) by @imsarahschreck

Practicing since 2012, Sarah found yoga as a way to reconnect with her body + quiet her mind. Her classes blend creative vinyasa, humor, and feel-good movement.

Little joys in Japan with @caroline_lane_kamm @jordanluber and @wess_is_more and more lovely humans not pictured! (We needed more group shots Drew and Lauren!!) ❤️ It’s so wild to me how much more there is to show and say, but I don’t think I can capture it. The food, the restaurants, (the prices!), the atmosphere, the people; we met an 85 year old firecracker on the train who became our best friend. We drank drinks styled to our favorite movies. I think I died in a Don Quijote (neg). I stuffed myself with sushi and Ootoya for like $7. I need to go back immediately. But the best part, as always, was the people. :) Caroline and I smile on a sloped stone riverbank, with a pedestrian bridge, forested hills and clouds behind us in the matcha capital, Uji. taken in Japan by @imsarahschreck
