‘This Isn’t Bargaining’ is out now, so go listen! i wrote this song about turning 40, the passing of time and grappling with mortality. features @kippriley on drums, @monson464 on bass, @marctherring on pedal steel, @kvoxtalks on harmonies, strings arranged by me and produced by @wtrmnstr, mixing/mastering by @cingersoll, video and photography by @jfsephp. i’m really proud of how this one turned out, and couldn’t be more grateful for all of their contributions. word of mouth is still the best way to spread art that you enjoy, so i’d be indebted to you if you’d share it with friends! thanks y’all, lots of love. ❤️ by @imscottryan

part 2 of our super-sized episode about ‘Remain In Light’ by Talking Heads is up now! we dig into Brian Eno’s influence and how he and David Byrne brought out the best and worst in one another, the ways the band changed from their minimalist, punk origins, the growing schisms between band members, and how Remain In Light became a ground-breaking, enduring masterpiece that managed to transcend rock, disco and funk music at a time when fans of each couldn’t be further apart. also, is Ryan currently in the woods? maybe! listen now wherever you get your podcasts! by @imscottryan

take a look at these podcast hosts…TAKE A LOOK AT THESE PODCAST HOSTS, as we dive into 1980’s seminal, ‘Remain In Light,’ by Talking Heads. this episode was so big, so important to people (it’s me, Scotty, i am people) that we had to split it into two parts. in part 1, we delve into the art school origins of this band of misfit oddballs, how they made their way to NYC, and how the crucible of the Lower Eastside of New York in the 1970’s gave birth to the punk scene. check out the episode today!
