Late nights, qualifying exams, figuring out the dissertation, changing the dissertation… a lot of growing pains. But also… a lot of laughs, transformative life events, and life-long friendships formed.

Adulting is meeting up with your friends who are also parents (after about a 1.5 months of planning), spending about 30 minutes just making it into the museum with 6 adults and 4 kids, and getting kicked out after only an hour of browsing dinosaur bones because the museum is closing. 😆

Black Girl, Brown Girl Books …

Was created with the sole purpose of creating books where Black & Brown kids could see themselves reflected. Today, we partnered with the @lapubliclibrary to host an Author’s reading at the Mark Twain Branch @laplmarktwain in South Central LA. We had so much fun and can’t wait to host many more at other local libraries!

This weekend, we witnessed @dra_krystal_chan and @beelibertad join their souls, their families, and ancestors in the most beautiful Mayan ceremony. What a privilege to have witnessed such a beautiful union.

As a new mama, I can’t tell you all how much I admire one of my closest friends @_linalemon_ after the difficult birth of her twin girls.

A few months back, while pregnant with twins, Celina had a brain bleed and went into cardiac arrest. Doctors had to perform an emergency c-section to try and save her and her babies. Thankfully, they did. 🙏🏽 She also had multiple brain surgeries to try and repair the damage the brain bleed caused.

For months, she’s been working hard to recover and being such an amazing wife and mama to 4!! As you can imagine, the medical bills are piling up and they are in need of support from their village. Please consider donating anything you can. ❤️🙏🏽 Link included in bio and story. by @in.grid.ed
