Drum birthing under the energy of the Aries ♈️ full moon during the fall 🍂 equinox season. September 26, 2026. I welcome to my family "Luna Llena". She was created and imagined in the most uncomfortable of elements of the season. I was hot during a long day, starting off with a 2 hour drive to and from the birthing center with my sisters @sacred.remembrance_ and @thegroundingmystic. Thanks Cynthia for driving. Greeted by beautiful souls @3sticks2spiritshaman and @priestess_lumi Honestly, I went through it yesterday yet would do it again. It was so supportive and fun. Our babies are bonded for life as cousins. Luna Llena, Elki, Marigold plus the babies of Sand's, Lumi and Karrie took their first bath together, heard the aunties talk (bitch, laugh, tell stories, etc.) around the table, hold space in ceremony and share a meal. I love that we got to connect. Luna Llena fits in beautifully in her home. Thank you @priestess_lumi and @3sticks2spiritshaman Yesterday, we birthed drums. 🥁🌕 And it truly felt like a birth. We began in circle, calling in the spirits of the land and the four directions, dropping into our breath, our bodies, the materials and one another. Our hides had spent the night soaking beneath the Aries Full Moon. Before we ever began working with them, we set our intentions. Then, one by one and blindfolded, we went to the water and allowed the hide that wanted to be birthed through us to choose us. We sanded our frames. Wrote our intentions on the wood where they will forever live beneath the hide. Punched our holes. And then we began. For the next few hours we pulled, stretched, laced, tightened, helped one another, laughed, sweated and kept going. It was hot. Our hands hurt. Our bodies got tired. It really did feel like birthing. And then, slowly, these beautiful drums began to emerge from our hands. After a shared lunch on the Royal Temple deck, we created our beaters from sticks gathered from the Temple land and small circles of hide that had rested on our altar throughout the day, absorbing the prayers, stories, laughter and intentions of our circle. We ended our day with a shamanic journey to meet the spirits of our drums. Mine told me her name is Dovan. Jaguar met me in the Underworld and led me to the elk whose hide became my drum. She showed me her life. Walking through the trees. Running through open meadows. Her family. Her freedom. She had lived a beautiful life. And she let me know that she was happy to continue her energetic life with me, with me as caretaker and drummer. That part moved me deeply. We returned from our journeys and shared what we had experienced. Different stories. Different drum spirits. Different relationships beginning. And then we closed the circle we had opened together that morning. There was so much laughter yesterday. So much connection. Sore bodies and tired hands. Stories shared over food. I love my clients and solving problems that are causing them pain. When I give a list of things to do between sessions I know they probably won't get done. I recommend exercises or stretches to help you. Now if you choose not to do the work, that's fine!
