Hay lugares que visitas por un cóctel y terminas quedándote por la experiencia. 🍸✨

Escondido entre un jardín de cacao en Playa Bonita, Las Terrenas, Chin Chin Cocktail Club (@chinchincocktailclub) es un pequeño universo creado por Allie Rich (@indighost) donde la estética vintage, la cultura pop y la música de los años 70 marcan el ritmo de la noche.

Construido junto a artesanos locales, este espacio íntimo y nostálgico invita a disfrutar de un buen cóctel, conversar sin prisa, jugar una partida de billar, bailar o simplemente conocer a alguien nuevo. A un año de su apertura, se ha convertido en punto de encuentro para locales y viajeros que buscan algo diferente.

Un rincón pensado para olvidarte por un rato del mundo exterior… y quizás hasta del año en que estás. 🪩

My little baby bar is officially 1 year old.

People always ask where the name ChinChin came from.

Well, for one, I love celebrating. And a “ChinChin” toast never really needs much of a reason.

And here in the DR, un chin means “a little bit.” I’m constantly saying, “solo un chin chin,” fully convinced I’m only having a little bit more wine.

Turns out that’s a pretty good philosophy for a bar. (Swipe for more)

A few years ago I was looking for a new way to connect with this special town on my own and start a project that could use every side of my personality + brain. I’ve always loved hosting, throwing parties, creating beautiful little worlds, and building spaces where people feel comfortable enough to become more themselves.

My brother had built out a garden next to his bodega, with what felt like the perfect clearing tucked amongst the cacao trees for a tiny cocktail bar.

From there, it was me, my carpenter, concrete guy, electrician, and glass guy against the world + ofc my mom, dad, brother, best friends, and the entire Mosquito crew (Mario! Carlos!) jumping in whenever they could to help.

And a few months later, that little clearing became ChinChin.

One year later, it is still just a small cocktail bar hidden amongst the cacao trees but now already so full of experiences and characters.

From the beginning, I’ve tried to make everything feel intentional, while always leaving room for a little spontaneity. I wanted to build the kind of place I’d always want to end up. Equal parts home and hideaway. The grown-up version of the backyard forts we built as kids. A place where everyone is welcome, conversations linger, and, for a few hours, the rest of the world quietly disappears.

We’ve learned so much this first year, and we’re still learning every single day. I can’t wait for the next year, and hopefully many more after that, continuing to create a place that brings Playa Bonita a little fun, a little whimsy, a little goofy, a little funky, and a little tastiness.

To everyone who’s been part of this, my family, my friends, my DJs (ludo! Jordy!), our regulars, and everyone who’s walked through our “doors” thank you. You’ve helped build this little taken in Las Terrenas by @indighost
