POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

ISABELLA AND THE SPROUTS are RELEASING their FIRST full length studio ALBUM and you are invited to join the celebration on the eve of its release!
The world of Isabella and The Sprouts is introspective, tender, and sincere- reflected through harmonies and instrumentation in a style inspired by the folk revival of the 60s and many modern day femme fronted folk rock acts. Their live sets are filled with emotive lyrics and sing-alongs, inviting the audience into the experience with an open hand.
To make this evening extra special the night opens with a community choir: “The Beautiful Loose Anti-Choir” directed by our beloved local legend Martin Reisle, followed by the revival of Vancouver’s sweet heart Spank William’s free jazz band The Ministry Of Human Resources.
Not only is this event the celebration of a (perhaps long awaited) release and culmination of a building musical web, it will also be a sort of goodbye, Isabella Sprout is moving eastward (Montreal) during the winter and this will be one of their last performances before the big move.
This will surely be a night to remember, full of community, big feelings and perhaps a few hijinks along the way… Bring your whole family and please dress for the occasion (up for interpretation but have some fun with it)!

Wow Red String! It’s out! 🪢

This is a break up song, but it’s also about the theory of the “red thread of fate” which is the idea that there’s a string that connects you to your soulmate.
I’m not sure if I believe we only have one soulmate each. Or that your soulmate necessarily has to be a romantic partner. I think I have a good handful of soulmates, and a lot of them are on this track!
Ultimately this is a song about how someone can touch your heart deeply and change you, and even if you don’t stay in a partnership with them there is a love and a bond that will remain.
I wrote this song last winter with a heavy heart and we recorded it in the summer. Some of the best musicians I know played on this track and I feel pretty blessed.
My beloved band and other amazing pals helped this song come into the world and I can’t believe I’m so lucky!
@bestcryever on piano and harmonies
@gigatron_dex on fiddle
@calzone.club on bass
Kael on banjo
Finn on drums
@muscle_dummie added pedal steel from afar,
@shilo.ca at @risque.disque recorded us and mixed the track. Big love for buggy.
David from @lovingband mastered it! ❤️‍🔥
It was truly a labour of love from everyone. Thank you for believing in me and loving me and holding me through all the tears.
And thanks to you for reading all of this and perhaps even listening to the song…
Love you!
