Our latest edition of Dogpatch Stories looks into the history of Crane Cove Park. Now an it is an amazing park with a beach, dog park, coffee shop and kids play area. But before 2020 it was not accessible to the public. Many relics from the industrial and shipbuilding past remain. Hear all about it here.

Ever wondered why giant gears are hanging over Progress Park?

They’re believed to be remnants of Dogpatch’s industrial past, possibly connected to the old Tubbs Cordage Factory. Buried for decades, they were unearthed during excavation for the Millwheel development in 2009 and given a new home in the park.

This video tells about The Gears that are displayed on 23rd street in Dogoatch’s Progress Park.

The 25th Street Greening workday was a big success. The Green Benefit District (GBD) and our talented volunteers placed 9 new planters with native plants to beautify what was once a neglected block. The GBD is responsible for countless green areas throughout Dogpatch and parts of Potrero Hill.

I’ve been meaning to try the much talked-about double smash burger at Ungrafted in Dogpatch. It did not disappoint. Two luscious patties, American cheese, grilled onions, amazing pickles, their great slam sauce and a potato bun all balanced brilliantly into a hot gooey pleasure. And what I think are the best fries in Dogpatch. Not coated, thin, fresh, hot and with a perfect sprinkling of celery salt. $21
