I am a BLACK MAN!..... I build .... I don't tear down other BLACK MEN! ....I have felt the pain of being torn down and I have decided I will be deliberate about building others! So Heres What Ive Got... (So Far..)
You don't have to be what other people want you to be. you don't have to be interesting or agreeable or entertaining. You don't have to tone yourself down, quiet your voice, or hide your feelings. You don't have to be outgoing or spontaneous or sociable. You don't have to be thin or beautiful or anyone's definition of attractive. You don't have to be anyone other than who you authentically are, and you sure as hell don't have to spend your time and energy trying to convince people that you're someone different or worse worth keeping around. The right people are going to recognize your worth. They are going to respect you, appreciate you, and accept you, care about you fight for you, without forcing you to compromise who you are. Life is too short, and your happiness is far too important, to make room for anyone who treats you otherwise. Just Be you and Do you. ALWAYS!!! One day it just clicks you realize what's important and what isnt. You learn to care less about what other people think of you and more about what you think of yourself. You realize how far you've come and you remember when you thought things were such a mess that they would never recover. What you want for yourself And Those around you. And then you smile... You smile because you're truly proud of yourself, of the road you traveled to get here, and of the person you fought to become.. So in short I keep this note to myself

Keep striving...
Keep praying...
Stay positive...
Be awesome...
