One charmpack goes quite a long way if you combine it with some stashed Essex Dyed Linnen. I choose to make a square top without leaving out any of the quarter logcabin blocks, so I made a few big squares of the background fabric. Charmpack: Memento by @carolynfriedlander for @rubystarsociety bought @quiltcabin2.0 when I visited Sainte-Marie aux Mines last month.

Joining Irina @nordiccrafter today and putting stitches to this baby knit. So nice to knit something so small, I want a quick finish. Also, I've been shopping my yarn bins, and it feels good to use up yarn from my mom's stash.

Look, a new set of coasters! I sewed the binding on at @dutchmqg quiltbee at @quiltwinkelmargreetotto this past saturday. It was an 'only handsewing' bee and accidentally we grouped together. I was in the 'binding corner' with Susanne, while others did the propper epp handpiecing. I'm looking already forward to next year, maybe I should prep another set of coasters...

When you're friend has a big birthday and loves blue too, it's so much fun to make her a scrappy Jade Bag. I really love to make this fun pattern by @rosie.taylor.crafts . This time it was not easy to gift it, so maybe I need to make myself one too.

Can you guess who needed a last minute handsewing project for the @dutchmqg quiltbee at @quiltwinkelmargreetotto tomorrow? Of course, I do... so I'm making scrappy X & + block coasters (again). Hopefully I get them done and I sew the bindings down. It's the only handsewing task I enjoy.

I pieced and quilted the tumbler panels, choose the lining and picked 💙 webbing. That means I'm good to go. Let's sew up a fun scrappy bag.

Blue monday, one of my favourite songs, and it fits today's cutting board. Working my way through scrap bins looking for pieces that are just big enough to cut a small tumbler. Scrappy projects make me so happy, especially if it's all blue fabrics.

This is for sure not the end lay out, but it gives me ideas of where I might go with these Memento @carolynfriedlander quarter log cabin blocks.
It looks like I won my game of fabric chicken on the essex dyed linen, there's only a small strip left after sewing all the single blocks. I want to use for the other fabrics only stash with this souvenir charmpack, and of course I didn't do the math.
I think I never have sewn with a fabric collection so fast after being available, normally I wait years (and some more years...).

I have a quilt back ready! I framed the blocks with a black chambray, and I think it works. Although I find black hard to work with...
This will be the #partyinthequiltback of my West City quilt top I made last year in @sewbysanne sewalong.
Let's if this master of #procrastibasting can finish it this year...

I found this cute doggy fabric in Freiburg last week, and thought it could be turned in a reusable giftbag, or just a fun pouch. The piece was big enough to make 2 Petunia Pouches Large, lovely pattern by @sotakhandmade . So why not make 2 at a time. The red one will go to our neighbours, who took care of our plants, while we were away. I'll fill it with some local produce souvenirs.
It's great to be sewing again. Let's see what I can pick up next...

We spent our last holiday week in the Black Forest, and that appears to be sort of in the neighbourhood of @carrefour_patchwork . So we decided last minute to go for a day.
When I visited the @aurifilthread booth I had absolute no idea which colour I 'needed', so I picked a Capri Teal set of 50 wt thread and a kone of light grey.
It feels very organised to use it straight away for these quilted @echino_textile panels. I hope to finish my @sotakhandmade pattern testing in time.

It needs a border to make it fit my front, but I'm quite pleased how this turned out. The blocks are inspired by the Elate Quilt by @carolynfriedlander . Fabrics are my deep stash (2013) @lottajansdotter .
