Few shots from the eruption that started
yesterday. Got pretty close but was safe the whole time wich is the thing that metters the most.

The lava went over the Grindavik road again but they will fix that in two days or so.

Iceland is safe and this eruption is on its way to stop wich is great 🙏🏻 Swipe slow for the pano shot

First shot of the day

The Skeleton Greek Goddess

I have to admit that seeing where its erupting now is a good feeling cause it didnt look so good yesterday when it started with a bang.

Im only saying its a good feeling because of the location it self. If we look at the whole picture theres nothing great about this.

We have 3.800 people or 1% of the island population that had to leave town bacause of this event, and yesterday some people belived that they would be going home before christmas because it was in the news.

In an event like this people try to be as positive as they can, and ive felt it when im only trying to be realistic about what data has been telling us people have called me beeing negative. So ive kinda backed down the last few days cause i dont want to hurt anyone.

I have a friends on instagram that were with me when i took this shot today and they both told me from the data they were reading yesterday that something big was about to happen "eruption" and they were right, 15 minutes later it all started with a bang.

Now its another chapter and another wait while 100 people from our town are still with out a home, many people are spread all around the island and its hard as you can imagine.

I will tho go again when the next window opens cause this is my way of healing my wounds, and it has always been like that, or ever since i took my first picture wich is about 35 years ago.

I cant lie but having this platform and all of you "that i feel like i know so many of you today" is helping me, us to get trough this. I really hope you all stick with me when this is over cause this bang that is happening for me is maybe the only good thing i can take out of this. Ive reached more then 18k followers and thats just out of this world to imagine for a guy like me that is struggling to to be proud of what im capturing.

I have to as many of you say, start to belive more in myself 🙏🏻

Eruptions in Reykjanes 2021-2024

I couldnt sleep so i went out of bed instead of getting crazy cause i cant sleep. Thats mainly cause it messes me up when im doing those nighshifts.

Anyway, here are 9 photos from each eruptions that i have photographed since it all started in Fagradalsfjall 2021.

The opening shot is taken at home with a drone aiming towards the big crater. Today im hapoy that i was active at that time shooting because if not i would not have that photo wich i think is amazing to open this set for you all.

For those who question it, every eruption gets harder and harder to face. But the further away from town it goes the less stressed we are cause i belive most of us are going back home.

I went home yesterday to safe up few things in my garden, i took the drone to capture a far distance shot so i can show you all how it looks like north of town. Will post that later.

When we were driving towards the eruption site the Aurora showed up and i had to see if the drone could capture it.

It was windy in a short window to take it, its not the greatest one but now i have a shot of The Blue lagoon - Geo thermal plant - the Volcano and the moon all in one frame 😅

I did the southcoast searching for an Owl this evening and ended my trip at home in Grindavík

When i was driving out from our town the sky just lid up and i did a uturn and drove straight to the harbor to get the photo ive had in my mind for a very long time

I saw the ship siling towards the harbor so i had to fly out and get her in the frame

These photos are taken 50 minutes past midnight,
and shot with Dji Mavic4pro

Grindavík

Eruption started this morning north of home, few minutes in it opened up inside the wall. It doesnt seem big but if it keeps on going its not going to end well

Mother nature

We have been told many things last two weeks

Some have been using big words others not

Today i woke up after a calm night then i mean not many earthquakes as it has been for the last two weeks or so. I had a phone call to go and film an old fissure that has been opening up south of my hometown Grindavík. Two hours later this massive earthquakes started and they still are many hours later

I was at home during the worst of it i guess and ive never ever felt anything as scary as it was, constantly for 3 hours straight. We have been told that we will have 3-4 days to pack our bags and leave town if it starts to erupt but mother nature doesnt have a boss and right before midnight we were told to leave town asap and they would want to see everyone gone in 2 hours.

A big lava chamber is beeing formed north of my town and its possible the he will be that big he could be under our town aswell..

When i shoot this video most of the people were gone and when im writing this text im safe and in good hands with friends and family

Way home

This is how it looked like from where you turn to Grindavík from the highway last night

This is the second eruption in a row where i dont bring alot of footage to the table, or the footage i want to catch when i give it my time if you get me

This is the part of growing as a photgrapher as me and Oskar were talking about on the way home yesterday when the eruption started

I see it like this: sometimes theres just a moment to enjoy what is infront of you and sometimes its more then that. And when its more the that, then take the oppurtunity and send it !

Evening at the volcano

Spent few hours at the eruption site two days ago with a person that always pushes me to go further. It was magical to see how the area came to alive when the sun went down.

Its magical and terrifying aswell

Grindavík July 16th 2026

We are in the phase of making Grindavík a safe place and to do that we need to close the crack (Stamphólsgjá" that splits the town in half

The area west of the crack sunk down from half a meter up to one and a half meter wich caused the roof of this 2.500year old crack to break and thats why we see the crack open

We have a new major in town and new town council wich is full spirit on open the way back home for those who can and want

Close to 50 children have signed up to attend the school next season

Both basketball teams are i think close to be set up

Soccer is beeing played on our soccerfield

Gym and swimmingpool is open

The campingsite has been open all summer and still is

Our famouse bakery is open and aswell the art store next to it

Few restaurants are open to serve food

Fishing industry is blooming and have been going on since day one

900 people have theyr home adress signed as Grindavík

If you visit Iceland please come and visit Grindavík, take a look and leave something back for us, its a big part of the phase to get us back home
