Jag kan bildgoogla “fake smile” i flera dagar, stjäla de första resultaten som algoritmerna föreslår, modifiera bilderna och sedan undersöka dem genom måleri eller teckning. 2025 the world got even worse but life still offered joy and opportunities. Memory lane// might delete later:✨✨✨ I renovated my kitchen on my own, traveled a lot to London, spent time with my besties, made new friends, got a diploma as music producer and started making sound art, picked a lot of mushrooms, became full time artist, exhibited with inspiring artists, lady bossed in the film industry, continued my eternal glow up and started @tilde_project with therese. Thank you to all 🖤 by @ingridsegring

Her practice focuses on the image’s relationship to illusion and the historical charge of the object, while exploring contemporary imagery within the excess of popular culture. Segring holds a Bachelor from Konstfack in Stockholm, with an exchange at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, as well as further studies at Pernbys Målarskola. Old self portrait in oil that I just found again. I think it’s quite representative and …sweet but raw? Half suffering half posing, trying to transcend the surface and image, blinded, distorted. A self portrait is extremely exposing, the volatile relation between the creator and the self image included in the ~self of the artist, laid bare in its silly but enormous importance. After you let go of a piece you can’t control how it’s perceived, and online we keep outsourcing an illusion of who we might be, our position. The self portrait is such a classic but it’s more charged today, maybe even cringe. In an age of self-broadcast, the painted self becomes obscene, too confronting. I just love a self portrait, it’s truthful in its construction: simultaneously brutally honest and inescapably deceptive. And maybe my obsession with pushing myself to do things I find embarrassing shines through, amongst other small things like the will to understand everything in the entire world and just be friends.
