July 2025 - Family Backpacking up the country beyond our back yard. Akash caught us some brookies for dinner the first night. Saw some bear marks, ducks, deer, elk and whistle pigs.. but no other humans! Climbed to the Castle and peeked over to see our beautiful valley below. Arenal / La Fortuna
Waking up to this active Volcano right outside was surreal.
More adventures:
Cacao (chocolate) Farm tour - learning about the whole process and reality of this amazing plant and treat we take for granted in our world.

Costa Rica was a dream! 🌺
(Part 2)
Akash and I went on an EF educational tour across Costa Rica - him as a student, and me as a chaperone (one of my besties was the Group Leader!)
We were thoroughly Pura Vida-fied - we learned sooo much, met amazing people, went on epic adventures, ate up the prolific tropical beauty, encountered wildlife everyday, and created so many core memories!
We visited several regions, so I'll share over a few posts.
Our first destination was Tortuguero - a super remote and traditional Costa Rican village located in the heart of the "Amazon of Central America" Only accessible by plane, or a 2hr boat ride through jungle canals. Its shores host critical sea turtle habitats and are very protected. The surrounding jungle is THICK and diverse - teaming with life! Such a colorful place and people - beyond grateful for the time spent there! taken in Tortuguero National Park by @inhaylows

Finally getting around to sharing what we've been up to these past few years (in our "free time")... building another home! This time, our already partially built log cabin, plus a covered deck and bedroom addition. It was indeed a labor of love- and like any proper building project, we enjoyed lots of challenges, setbacks and budget surprises along the way. We were finally able to move in a few months ago.. and have since been reaquainting ourselves with some actual "free time" again. We're really pleased with how it all came together - and so thankful for all of the help from fam and friends along the way - you know who you are! 🤍 taken in Colorado by @inhaylows
