We thank you for your patience while we've tuned, tweaked and turned up to 11 the line-up for Inner Varnika's 10 year anniversary, IVX. In its entirety, this collection of exceptional artists is emblematic of a fulfilling decade and the special relationships we've built along the way, as well as a celebration of the explosion of electronic music culture and community that's taken place on our home soil, something we feel grateful to have been a small part of. All of us together did a big thing and that thing also did its magic on us. After ten years, Inner Varnika leaves on us all indelible but invisible marks that we’ll forever carry and cherish. Over the past ten years so many things have happened at Inner Varnika that are worthy of honouring. Big moves, big expressions and big feelings. Joy, glee, mischief and exhaustion. People have gotten engaged, fallen in love and broken up. There have been smooches, suits and shit horses. Clipboards, faxes and haircuts. Looks, outfits, drips, threads and doos. Full moons, blood moons, total eclipse of our hearts. Shimmies, shakers, dippers and trippers. Tears of beauty and joy, and at least a few instances of unplanned silence. Licorice pies, USBs, shout outs, drum machines, snares, guitars and at least one flute. Music, music, music, music and glorious music. Music to dance to, get lost to and find yourself to. Music to sooth broken hearts, music to boost moods, find new energy and groove to. Music to cruise to, eat to and booze to. Thank you to those who played, stayed and swayed. Thank you to the eternal spirit of Djargurdwurrung. Thank you to those hosted us on their land. Thank you to our crew, who always danced with their radios on. Thank you to the background crew who made the foreground possible. We do know that we won’t see you next year. We don't know what comes after that but we're grateful either way. HAVE YOU BOUGHT YOUR PLATELAND WRISTBAND? The crew at @b_alternative will be back with a new and improved crockery rewash system using electronic wristbands. But only one third of you have taken this essential step to nourishing your Inner Varnika this weekend. If you plan to eat from our food vendors this weekend you’ll 100% need one of these. They can be purchased via our ticket page, linked in our bio. HOW IT WORKS: ONE Pre-purchase an electronic wristband online for $15 via our ticket page, or more on the gate.Everyone on site requires one of these. TWO Collect your wristband at the front gate at the same time with your festival wristband. Each wristband has two tokens on it. THREE Tap your wristband when you order your food. FOUR Return your plate or coffee cup to a collection point in the food area or at the Info Tent. Tap your wristband to load your token/s back on. FIVE After your last meal, return your wristband to Plateland in the food area, or the Info Tent and get $5 back. Note: you can also opt to donate your refundable $5 deposit which will go to a bush regeneration project in the local area. Last year you raised over $3,500 for the Lismore Land Protection Group! While Inner Varnika is pretty much pure pleasure to plan and operate, there are a few things that keep us up at night in the lead up to our time together. The guiding principle of these four items is one of RESPECT. For your environment, for the effort it takes to organise IV and foremost, for yourself. Please read on. Trespassing — Inner Varnika is not cheap to run, our tickets are reasonably priced and we run a broad volunteer program. There is no excuse to jump the fence. Trespassing is distressing to our neighbours and tarnishes our reputation in the area. If you are caught trying to sneak into Inner Varnika you will be referred to the police. Graffiti — please for the love of mankind, please do not tag or graf anything at Inner Varnika. Pretty much everything you see at IV is hired and returning tarnished equipment is shit and expensive. Police — as usual, Vic Pol will be on site and beyond our gates doing what they do best. Please treat them with respect while they carry out their duties and don’t give them any excuse to bust your chops. Drugs — while Inner Varnika does not condone the use of drugs, we are pragmatic in our understanding that it does take place. If you or someone you know feels unwell at any time, do not hesitate to contact our medical team. The Dancewize crew will also be onsite doing their important harm minimisation work. Before you leave the site make use of Blow Me First for drug and alcohol testing. And above all, please respect your beautiful body and brain, know your limits, and look out for your mates and those around you. Peace out and see you all with love and respect on the dance floor! TIMEPOOR Poor in time and name only, Timepoor brings their deliciously soporific dreamstate brainmelt brand of Ethereal Shoegaze to the dusty plains this Easter. Transitioning from a one man band to a four piece unit, Timepoor includes such household names as Cale Sexton, Dylan Batelic and Jordan Dunster, with Luke Coleman running point. With more space echo than the Grand Canyon, the licks, loops and delays in Timepoor's conjured universe together create a sound big enough for all of Inner Varnika to fit inside. Australia's answer to The Durutti Column, the semi-improvisational unit sounds like something barely recalled from a dream an age ago. Timepoor performances are still a rare treat, and as yet unheard on XXL sound systems. Settling into a trajectory towards bigger, cuter things, it's only a matter of time before Timepoor's name reverberates in every ear in every household. by @inner_varnika

HYBRID MAN If Naarm has a signature sound or style, it must surely include all the descriptors that come to mind when experiencing Hybrid Man. Not only does this delicious pair neatly encapsulate these sounds—dubby, downtempo electronic with a hint of techno—but also the attitude with which they approach music making: confident, groovy, danceable, technically proficient and made among and for community. This hyper local duo who, unusually, formed their sound for live performance, have made the reverse journey to press production, on similarly localised labels Paper Cuts and Butter Sessions. Nevertheless, playing live with all of the gear will always be their happy place and the truth remains that to experience @hybrid_man properly, it must be done the right way: in person, wholly present and within the sound. by @inner_varnika

SCONCE Same face, new name, please make way for your friendly and familiar companion, Sconce. You might remember Sconce from such adventures as RRR's Strange Holiday, Efficient Space's Midnite Spares Compilation and Inner Varnikas 2013, 2014 and 2019. Now, stepping out in new attire, Sconce f.k.a Instant Peterson returns to IVX for a first and fourth time. Based in Naarm, but casting beams well abroad, Sconce is ensconced with Mutant Radio based in Tbilisi, co-hosting in classic kooky style the show Indented Head, and is a frequent collaborator with Kansas City based platform C Minus. Sconce's current incarnation is not light but it is creamy, exploring a cross-genre mix of lamplit electronica drawn from his deeeep dives to the strangest corners of the online music ocean, dredging up the wackiest of underbitten, bioluminescent musical oddities unknown to man. by @inner_varnika
