Last week my family took yet another hit, but I refuse to let it knock me off my feet. We are resilient, & we are strong. I could have lost my wife and daughter and honestly it was scary hearing them scream as someone ran straight into our car.

During this time I refuse to allow it to disturb my peace. As the leader of my family I have to be the rock, I have to still lead from a place of peace and not frustration. It may not look perfect but taking moments to ground myself is what’s keeping me going. I will continue to show up the best I can. Yes we lost our car but they are still alive so I’m choosing to be grateful.

Hopefully I can be an example for a man going through a hard time right now who is figuring out how to lead while attacks are happening. I say to you bro. Take time for stillness. Kings always sit down and calmly assess situations before going to war. Take your time and release the need to fix everything in this moment.

When life gets uncomfortable, it’s easy to sit in “why me?”
Why did this happen? How did I end up being God’s strongest soldier?
It’s okay to feel that, but the challenge is to not stay there.
What if the hard season isn’t happening to you, but for you? What if the good and the bad are both teaching you something?
Next time things get uncomfortable, stay in that space long enough to ask the better question: What am I supposed to be learning in this?
