I had the privilege of speaking with Thomas Hobbs for @bbc_culture recently about composer Bernard Herrmann. I’m both honored and excited to be quoted alongside Herrmann’s daughter Dorothy, my personal hero Steven C. Smith and composers Rachel Zeffira and Michael Vincent Waller.

My documentary, a passion project, is inching toward the finish line and I’ll have some updates on it in the next year or so.

Here’s a link to the article (also in my bio):

And more on the Bernard Herrmann project, if you’d like to follow along: @bernardherrmannmovie

Rare Brazilian poster art for Brian De Palma’s OBSESSION (1976). This poster was linen backed and bleached for preservation and display by @fourthcone.

Directed by Brian De Palma and written by Paul Schrader, OBSESSION is a psychological thriller heavily inspired by Alfred Hitchcock’s VERTIGO. The film stars Cliff Robertson, John Lithgow and Geneviève Bujold, featuring dreamlike cinematography by Vilmos Zsigmond and editing by Paul Hirsch.

The film is defined by its beautiful yet eerie score by Bernard Herrmann, who considered it among his finest works. In 1977, he was honored with two posthumous Academy Award nominations for Best Original Score for both OBSESSION and Martin Scorsese’s TAXI DRIVER.

It was an absolute privilege and pleasure to speak with Brandon Davis for @frnclassicspod about one of the most unique horror films ever made: Larry Cohen’s IT’S ALIVE (1974).

We talked about my time interviewing Cohen for @bernardherrmannmovie, the genius of Bernard Herrmann’s score and even the legacy of Steven Spielberg and John Williams.

Available to listen on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon and NPR. Link is in my bio, if you’re interested.
