Instant IP Advisor Austin Collins Rings NYSE Opening BellÂŽ for OTAX ETF.

Milestone spotlights how entrepreneurs can identify, protect, and leverage the hidden intellectual property behind their businesses

The headline above- who would've imagined? Although I have no ties to Austin Collins, his fund, or his firm, I began co-authoring a book in 2023 titled You Are an IP Company. Austin read the book in 2025, and the rest is history... or at least the press release below.

I couldn't be more excited for him.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2026 -- Optimal Tax Asset Management rang the Opening BellÂŽ at the New York Stock Exchange on Aug. 26 to celebrate the launch of the Optimal Tax Managed Equity ETF (NYSE: OTAX).

Austin Collins, CEO of Optimal Tax Asset Management, Inc., founding principal of Integrated Wealth Advisors and portfolio manager of OTAX, was joined on the NYSE floor by Laura McCarthy, Anthony Rossi, and Kary Oberbrunner, founder and CEO of Instant IPÂŽ, @instant.ip a patented, blockchain-powered platform that helps creators and entrepreneurs establish evidence of their original ideas.

“Many entrepreneurs are surrounded by ‘hidden Rembrandts,’ valuable ideas they have created but never named, protected or leveraged,” Oberbrunner said.

“The ETF is the vehicle, but the real differentiation comes from the thinking behind it,” Collins said. “Instant IP® helped me recognize that the models, frameworks and processes I had developed were valuable business assets. Protecting those ideas gave me greater confidence to bring them into the marketplace.”

Instant IPÂŽ enables users to create time-stamped, independently verifiable evidence connected to their ideas, frameworks, creative works, and other intellectual property.

The platform provides an accessible first layer of protection while helping entrepreneurs build organized portfolios of their intellectual assets.

Oberbrunner is the co-author of You Are an IP Company with Katherine Rubino, an intellectual property attorney and partner at Wiggin and Dana LLP. The book teaches founders how to discover the overlooked intellectual property already at work within their businesses. taken in New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) by @instant.ip

You Are an IP Company Activation Guide is here. And this launch feels bigger than a book.

Not necessarily because of the size of the launch, but because of everything that had to happen to get here.

For Katherine Rubino and me, this guide represents a lot more than another book with our names on the cover. It represents conversations we’ve had with creators.

Problems we’ve watched entrepreneurs encounter. Changes we’ve seen happening at an incredible pace because of AI. And a growing conviction that intellectual property can no longer be something creators think about only after there’s a problem.

We wanted to create something practical. Something you could actually pick up, work through, and use to make decisions about the ideas you’ve already created and the ones you’re creating next.

Now it’s finished. It’s shipping to doorsteps around the world. And on October 6, we’re going to celebrate.

We’re throwing a Global Livestream Launch Party, and you’re invited.

Katie and I have packed a lot into this event, including some pretty incredible bonuses and one grand prize I’m having a hard time keeping quiet about.

But mostly, I’m excited to get this guide into the hands of the people we created it for.
The authors.
The entrepreneurs.
The creators.
The people with ideas they believe can make a difference.

If that’s you, come celebrate with us.

When we launched Instant IPÂŽ, we were focused on an important problem: How can creators establish a clear record of what they created and when they created it?

That problem hasn’t gone away. But the world around it has changed dramatically. AI can now ingest, process, reproduce, and redistribute ideas at a speed and scale we couldn’t have imagined just a few years ago.

Creators aren’t only asking, “How do I protect this?” They’re also asking: “How do I know where my intellectual property is showing up after I put it into the world?”

That question has helped shape the next chapter of Instant IP.

On October 6, Katherine Rubino and I are pulling back the curtain on what we’ve been building—and celebrating the launch of our new You Are an IP Company Activation Guide.

But this isn’t simply a book launch. It’s a look at how we believe the IP conversation needs to evolve for the AI age.

The Instant IP®: The Next Chapter Global Livestream Book Launch Party is free to attend. —Tuesday, Oct. 6 — 12 pm ET — Online - Free

When you register, you’ll receive the You Are an IP Company eBook and audiobook, plus a $100 IP Lab coupon. We’ll also have live giveaways—including a grand prize valued at $3,000.

The You Are IP Company Activation Guide is now shipping to doorsteps around the world.

This isn’t a book designed to simply give you more information about intellectual property.
It’s an activation guide.

It helps you look at the ideas, frameworks, content, processes, and other assets you’re already creating and start asking:
What do I have here?
How can I protect it?
And what could I do with it next?

The examples help you see what IP can look like, while the worksheets give you space to identify it in your own business.

And on October 6 at 12 PM ET, Katie Rubino and I will be unpacking the guide during our Global Launch.

We’ll walk through what it means to recognize, protect, and activate the IP you’re already creating—and we have some pretty cool prizes planned, too.

You're invited to the Instant IPÂŽ: The Next Chapter Global Livestream Book Launch Party.

On Tuesday, October 6 at 12:00 p.m. ET, join us online for a free celebration of the You Are an IP Company Activation Guide and a first look at what's next for Instant IP.

But this party is also about your ideas.

What have you created that you haven't recognized as intellectual property yet?

It might be a framework you teach. A process your team relies on. A name, a message, a method, or an idea you've been waiting to share.

You may think of it as "just something I do." Someone else may see an asset.

In the age of AI, ideas can travel farther and faster than ever. That creates opportunity. It also raises a question every creator needs to ask:

Do I know what I have, and have I taken steps to protect it?

That's why Katherine Rubino and I wrote the You Are an IP Company Activation Guide. Its 12 thinking tools help you identify, protect, and leverage the intellectual property already present in your work.

At the party, you'll also see four parts of Instant IP's next chapter:

1. A redesigned experience for documenting and protecting your IP.
2. Track the IP, to help you monitor potential matches and possible unauthorized human or AI use.
3. A new milestone connected to our U.S. patent and continuation application.
4. The Activation Guide and practical tools you can put to work.

My hope is that you leave seeing something in your own work differently.

The idea you almost gave away.
The method you've never named.
The work you've built over years that deserves a clearer record.

Find it. Protect it. Track it. Leverage it.

Registration is free and includes the You Are an IP Company eBook and audiobook, plus a $100 IP Lab coupon. We'll have live giveaways during the party, too.

If you create, teach, build, write, advise, or lead, I'd love for you to join us.

Introducing Track the IP, a new tool that alerts you when humans or AI are stealing your intellectual property.

I found out the hard way.
Back in 2003, I created a phrase and started using it:

“Clarity attracts, confusion repels®.”

I put it on my business card. In my books. In my presentations.
For more than two decades, those five words have been part of my message.

Then, in 2025, I watched the phrase take off online.

Millions of people were being exposed to it because of one particular influencer. But something was missing. The connection to its creator.

You might wonder: is that a problem?

Imagine searching for something you created and finding other people claiming it. Worse yet. Imagine that person protected it before you did, and now you get locked out of your own intellectual property.

Think it can't happen to you? Think again.

Consider the framework you teach, the methodology your clients pay for, or the phrase you’ve spent years building your brand around.

You’re busy creating your next idea. Meanwhile, you have no idea where your existing ones are showing up. You can't see what people are stealing and where.

That is why we built Track the IP.

I wanted a tool that could help me see potential human and AI infringement without spending hours searching the internet myself. (Who has the time for that?)

I wanted an IP Daily Digest delivered straight to my email inbox.

In this video, I share my story and show you how it works.

You can:

• Add phrases, frameworks, and other original material you want to monitor.
• Receive daily scans for potential matches across the internet and the USPTO.
• Review results and prioritize what deserves your attention.
• Flag matches for follow-up and decide what action to take, including built-in Cease and Desist and Takedown templates.

I wish I’d had this tool years ago.

Now you can try it.

Track your first IP for free. No credit card required.
Watch the video, then start here: https://tracktheip.com/

Give it a try. It's actually FUN. by @instant.ip

Build your person, not your platform.
It is easy to focus on followers.

Views.
Likes.
Connections.

But none of those things define your real value.

Your platform can grow quickly.
Your character takes longer.

You can build:
→ a large audience
→ an impressive profile
→ a powerful personal brand

But if you neglect yourself,
the platform becomes bigger than the person behind it.

Build:
→ your knowledge
→ your character
→ your discipline
→ your confidence
→ your relationships

Because platforms can disappear.

Algorithms can change.
Attention can move somewhere else.

But what you build within yourself stays with you.

The goal is not to become more visible.

The goal is to become more valuable.

Build the person first.
Then let the platform amplify who you've become. by @instant.ip

Musicians are pushing back.
Filmmakers are pushing back.
Creators are watching AI systems ingest enormous amounts of existing work and asking:

Where does copyright protection actually begin and end?

In a recent court ruling we discussed, the judge drew an important distinction.

The issue wasn’t simply that copyrighted data had been used to train AI models. The court viewed that use as transformative.

The problem was piracy.

And that raises a much bigger question:

If copyrighted work can be scraped and used as AI training data because that use is considered transformative, what does that mean for the value of copyright itself?

These aren’t theoretical questions anymore.

They affect authors.
Musicians.
Filmmakers.
Entrepreneurs.
Businesses.
Anyone creating valuable intellectual property.

AI is changing what’s possible.

Now we need to understand what that means for the IP we create and how we protect it.

The printing press changed who could spread ideas at scale.

The internet changed who could access ideas at scale.

Social media changed who could build an audience around ideas at scale.

AI changed who could steal ideas at scale.

That is the shift many people still have not fully grasped.

For years, creators were told to share more, post more, teach more, and give away their best thinking. That advice helped many people build trust, authority, and opportunity. But in the age of AI, that advice needs a new layer of wisdom.

The moment you publish a book, upload a lesson, share a framework, deliver a keynote, release a song, or post a piece of content, it can be scraped, summarized, cloned, trained on, repackaged, and monetized. Sometimes before you even realize the value of what you created.

I learned this firsthand. I found my TEDx talk turned into someone else’s article. Later, I discovered that several of my books had entered the larger controversy surrounding pirated content and AI training.

That was a wake-up call.

But here is the irony. As AI floods the world with synthetic content, verified human-created intellectual property becomes more valuable, not less.

When everything can be generated, authenticity matters.

When everything can be polished, provenance matters.

When everything can be copied, proof matters.

When everything can be imitated, originality matters.

That is why I believe we are living in the Human IP Renaissance. A new era where creators who can find, protect, and leverage their originality will carry increasing value. A new era where people recognize that their story, framework, message, methodology, curriculum, research, or creative body of work is not merely content. It is intellectual property.

And if the AI economy depends on fresh human-created IP, then creators deserve three things:

Attribution.
Protection.
Compensation.

Not someday. Now.

This article was inspired by our new book, You Are an IP Company Activation Guide: 12 Thinking Tools to Find, Protect, and Leverage Your Intellectual Property in the Age of AI, co-authored with Katherine Rubino .
