Tuesday (10/27/26) in Shrewsbury, Massachusetts and we couldn’t have picked a more fitting soundtrack for what we’re trying to expose. The Rolling Stones’ “Sympathy for the Devil” takes on an entirely different meaning when you look at the institutions and corporations operating behind the closed doors of animal testing laboratories. A man of wealth and taste. A polished corporate image. Billions of dollars in business and an industry that depends on the public not looking too closely at what happens behind those laboratory walls. The references to washing hands and sealing fate bring to mind the systems of accountability, corporate responsibility, and public indifference that allow this industry to continue. And the question of the nature of the game? That’s exactly what we’re trying to get people to question because while these companies maintain their professional public image, animals are being bred, confined, experimented on, and killed behind closed doors and the numbers are staggering. According to 2025 USDA reporting, Charles River Laboratories’ Massachusetts operations reported 43,346 animals more than any other individual research facility in the country. That’s 43,346 individual lives caught up in an industry most people never have to think about and those figures don’t even capture every animal used in research, because many species aren’t included in USDA reporting because THEY AREN’T CONSIDERED ANIMALS IN THE ANIMAL TESTING WORLD including mice, rats, birds, amphibians, invertebrae’s, etc. Tuesday wasn’t just about exposing what’s happening inside these facilities. It was also about showing what happens when a community starts paying attention and THE SUPPORT FROM SHREWSBURY WAS UNREAL! Charles River, you can keep making calls and trying to get us to go away but you can’t ignore a community that is standing up for animals. The protests will continue and so will the voices of the people demanding change because the animals cannot walk out of those laboratories and speak for themselves. SHREWSBURY, WE HEAR YOU AND THE ANIMALS NEED YOU🖤 #stopanimaltesting #speakforthosewhocant #charlesriverlaboratories #shrewsbu by @interplanet.janet
Louie says pee there or be square Looking forward to Louie visiting his maker’s house and giving it a good pee! Save the Marshall beagles, hounds, pigs and ferrets@ by @interplanet.janet

CALL TO ACTION Ask Boston business journal to drop Birgit Girshick CEO of Charles River Laboratories as an honoree at their upcoming awards ceremony. Please also consider reaching out to the events sponsors to let them know that we care about promoting businesses and business women who are running businesses that are not hurting animals. Science and regulators are clear that this is not the way. We shouldn’t support her getting rewarded. Contact info here: https://www.bizjournals.com/boston/about-us by @interplanet.janet
Louie is ready to make some calls today -how about you? These are bills in Congress aimed to help research animals in various ways. Let’s make sure our voices are heard! Three phone calls: Your representative and two senators- you can cover all of these in your calls. The bills that only have an HR number need a senator to introduce it to the senate - will your senators take the lead? ASK THEM! Until every cage us empty, Shop cruelty free including the parent company- let them know why you are no longer a customer! Join a protest! Sign petitions- search change.org by beagle, sort by newest and sign them! Sincerely, Louie Marshall born, sold into animal testing and released alive unlike so many others that are suffering and won’t survive. Please be their voice ! by @interplanet.janet
May we have an honest dialogue about cruelty-free logos and what they mean? Why are we promoting brands that are owned by cruel companies? The leadership at those companies must be laughing in the boardroom at the fact that not only are we allowing them to profit off of us but are also giving them free advertising when we share/promote cruelty free brands they own. What if Marshall got a cruelty-free bunny logo for their pet products? Would you be so fast to promote that product? So why are you doing that for Clorox, Colgate, PG, Estée Lauder, etc? They are torturing animals too. On another post, it was explained to me that they want to show support for cruelty free brands / that they can be profitable when owned by a cruel company. They were profitable which is why they were purchased by the cruel company. At that point of purchase, they should be dropped for a truly cruelty free company. That’s the message to send those nasty companies that value profit over compassion. Google the brand’s parent company and if they aren’t cruelty free then choose another product otherwise we aren’t going to make them change their ways. by @interplanet.janet

UK FRIENDS - VETERINARIANS ARE BEING ASKED TO Scan beagle puppies to find the rescued Marshall puppies and turn them in 😡 If you remove the chip that is a criminal offense of animal mutilation but apparently it is perfectly ok for Marshall to mutilate the puppies as well as the torturers who purchase them. How messed up is that? https://www.vettimes.com/news/vets/wellbeing-at-work/vets-urged-to-be-vigilant-after-beagle-puppies-stolen-from-breeding-site by @interplanet.janet
Louie and I had a wonderful time at the @save_the_buns fundraiser featuring the premier of @thenewgoldstandardfilm. We were joined by @adventures.of.moira.rose and Spyder, son of an Envigo mom who was released pregnant. The film was very inspirational in showing what the leaders are championing to replace animals in research. It did not hold back on the cruelty and suffering of the animals and of the unsuspecting people that join these companies/institutions not realizing what they are getting into in this field. The head of Charles River Laboratories was interviewed and I wanted to scream when she referred to the animals they torture “the unsung heroes of research “. She is a vile human. I was chatting with Stephen Latham after and I wondered why my Marshall beagle Louie, who was sold into testing for the purpose of being tortured, killed and incinerated as medical waste since he is a “purpose bred beagle” is now protected from cruelty since he transitioned to me? Same dog but I would become a convicted felon in prison if I did a fraction of what these dogs had to endure. Why is that? by @interplanet.janet
FDA is looking for feedback on the animal drug user fees act. This is an opportunity to push for using non-animal methods and partnering with veterinary practices to use pets through clinical studies in the same way that drugs are tested on people. This would eliminate the use of beagles being purchased by Zoetis, Merck, Boehringer Ingelheim and more for the purpose of testing the drugs and then killing them. Laboratory beagles are inbred so are not predictive of other dog breeds and mixed breeds plus it is inhumane/ unethical and sadistic to hurt these dogs when other methods are available. What a day yesterday to be with ~1000 other people who cared enough about the suffering of research animals to travel to North Rose NY. Many of those people marched there from Albany starting two weeks ago traveling 206 miles on foot. We had people from all over the country and other countries. There were parallel protests across the United States and other countries at other Marshall facilities, Charles River laboratories facilities and labcorps globally. I saw a rainbow driving towards the protest and it seemed fitting that the people who showed up for those animals were the pot of gold. I just wish we could have helped those animals trapped, suffering and dying. The law enforcement was amazing which for me to say means a lot. There were a few bad actors that showed up and they were immediately dealt with by the various law enforcement agencies that were there. Most people who drove by honked and waved in support, some parked and joined us, several didn’t react and just a few gave us the finger. One pick up drove dangerously fast past us and the sheriff went right after him. I smelled skunk while I was there and didn’t think anything of it since skunks live there until people noticed there were mangled/cut up skunks left along where we were. Someone or someones purposely killed skunks to try to make it unpleasant for us. People who parked further away found dead squirrels on their cars. Not at all surprising that people who torture and kill dogs have supporters that kill wildlife. Marshall had people behind the brush/trees with guns. They also had loud speakers set up blasting country music to try to drown us out. None of this affected us and our mission yesterday. They also set up a propaganda/misinformation website and signs to advertise. Sad pathetic and petty attempts by sadists that live off of blood money. We won’t stop until every cage is empty. @marchforanimals ✅Shop cruelty free - why are you buying products still tested on animals? ✅Make a call/ send an email- can you spare five minutes to make your voice heard by your politicians? ✅Join an action- these are wonderful people that you will meet and these animals need you to be their voice. by @interplanet.janet
