An 11-year-old boy named Lu Zikuan from Henan, China, gained roughly 33 pounds (about 15 kg) in three months during 2019 by eating five high-calorie meals a day to reach the minimum weight requirement of 45 kg (99 lbs) so he could donate bone marrow and save his father, who was battling leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.

His father, Lu Yanheng, was diagnosed with a severe blood disorder/leukemia, and Zikuan was found to be the only compatible bone marrow match.

Zikuan originally weighed only 30 kg (66 pounds), falling well short of the hospital’s 45 kg (99 pounds) minimum weight requirement for safe donation.

He committed to eating four to five heavy, calorie-rich meals a day (loaded with rice, meat, eggs, and milk) over roughly three months.

When dealing with the physical discomfort and occasional teasing from classmates about his rapid weight gain, he famously declared: “Save Dad first, lose weight later.”

He successfully reached the target weight, and in September 2019, doctors at a Beijing hospital safely collected his bone marrow and stem cells for the successful transplant. by @investigated

Hi, I’m Andrew (@theandrewlamb). Father of 5 daughters, and I currently own 19 Sober Living homes in CA.

In 2021 I was working 60+ hour weeks as a realtor. I was exhausted and missing time with my family.

Then I discovered sober living homes: structured housing for people in recovery who need a safe place to rebuild their lives.

I turned my first rental from $600/month to $6,000/month by housing people who needed the most help.

Today I work about 2 hours a week, my family’s taken care of, and 150+ individuals have stable housing while they get back on their feet.

I share everything I’ve learned here... the financing, the systems, the mistakes to avoid.

Hope you’ll find value on my page:

Two captive elephants being transported on separate trucks were photographed reaching toward each other across an Indian highway, briefly touching trunks as they passed. The simple gesture became a powerful image of connection, especially because the elephants were reportedly being taken in different directions.

Elephants are highly social animals that depend heavily on their herds for protection, care, and companionship.
Their relationships can last for years, making moments like this especially poignant when animals that appear to share a bond are separated. The photograph has continued to resonate with people as a reminder of the strong social connections elephants can form. by @investigated

In what feels like an unreal scene ripped straight out of a sci-fi blockbuster, a fleet of humanoid robots just met their final fate by voluntarily leaping into a vat of boiling, molten steel. US robotics company Figure officially retired its groundbreaking F.02 robot generation, but instead of packing them away in storage, they went out in the most cinematic way imaginable. With actual Terminator legend Arnold Schwarzenegger joining in on camera after inspiring the stunt himself, the machines took a literal judgment day dive into a massive 75-ton electric arc furnace at an industrial foundry in Imatra, Finland.

Behind the viral spectacle was a high-stakes engineering challenge. As Figure ramped up production on its newer F.03 fleet and prepared for the next generation, dismantling every older robot by hand would have tied up vital engineering resources for months. More importantly, these machines were packed with proprietary hardware and custom intellectual property that needed complete destruction. When American and Mexican foundries turned down the job due to the risks of melting down lithium-ion batteries, a facility in Finland stepped up. But Figure didn’t just push the scrap metal in—they built a specialized AI model, rehearsed with stunt performers and airbags in California, and trained the humanoids to autonomously walk up and jump into the blazing vat all on their own.

Battling extreme heat, electromagnetic interference, and tight 20-minute operational windows before the metal crusted over, the autonomous jumps went off without a hitch. Figure confirmed the jaw-dropping stunt was 100% real practical footage rather than CGI. It marks the end of an era for the F.02 model, which famously proved its worth in automotive manufacturing by helping assemble over 30,000 BMW vehicles on real factory floors. Now, the recycled steel from the fiery farewell has been shipped back to the US to be forged into commemorative keepsakes, closing the chapter on a robotics pioneer that literally went out in a blaze of glory. by @investigated

Sylvester Stallone sold his beloved Bullmastiff dog, Butkus, for $40 in 1971 outside a 7-Eleven store because he was completely broke and could not afford to feed him.

After selling his screenplay for Rocky and achieving financial success, Stallone tracked down the new owners and bought Butkus back for $15,000, stating that the dog was “worth every penny”.

Butkus was a Bullmastiff who shared a close bond with Stallone during his struggling early days in New York. Butkus went on to star alongside Stallone in the first two Rocky films (Rocky and Rocky II). by @investigated

The “world’s most jealous woman” is Debbi Wood from Leicester, England, who made international headlines for requiring her husband, Steve Wood, to take a lie detector (polygraph) test every single time he returned home.

Whenever Steve walked through the front door, Debbi administered a polygraph test to check if he had interacted with, looked at, or been unfaithful with other women—going so far as to test him even after routine errands like buying milk.

Beyond the lie detector, she monitored his phone, messages, and bank statements, restricted his access to social media, placed child-proof filters on his devices, and even removed the television or banned shows featuring female actresses.

Debbi was diagnosed with Othello syndrome (a rare psychiatric condition causing persistent, delusional beliefs of a partner’s infidelity), alongside bipolar disorder and body dysmorphia, compounded by early trust issues when they first met on Facebook in 2011.

Polygraphs do not actually detect lies; they measure physiological stress and arousal, meaning innocent anxiety can easily trigger a false “deceptive” reading (known as the Othello error).

Despite the extreme rules, Steve stayed with her, and the couple married in 2014. With therapy, medical treatment, and time, Debbi’s symptoms improved, the polygraph tests were eventually stopped, and they worked on rebuilding trust. by @investigated

The most fascinating thing about an old tattoo is not how much it has faded, but how much life happened around it.

These portraits capture something rarely shown in tattoo culture: body art decades after the fresh ink, perfect lines, and new-tattoo photographs are gone.
The designs have softened. Black ink has turned blue-gray. Lines have spread, colors have faded, and skin has changed with age. Yet the tattoos are still there, carrying pieces of the people who chose them years earlier.

Some were likely rebellious decisions. Others may have marked love, identity, friendship, military service, music, travel, or simply a moment someone never wanted to forget. Whatever the original reason, time transformed each tattoo into something more than decoration.

That is what makes these elderly tattoo portraits such powerful visual storytelling.

We usually see tattoos photographed at their newest and most polished. Seeing vintage tattoos on older skin tells the other half of the story. Tattoos do not remain frozen in time. They grow older with the person wearing them.

And somehow, that makes them even more interesting.
A design that once looked bold and rebellious can become a personal archive decades later, proof of who someone was, what they loved, and what they were willing to carry with them for the rest of their life.

For tattoo lovers, body art enthusiasts, and anyone fascinated by how tattoos age over time, these images are a must-see reminder that getting tattooed is not only about how the ink looks today.

It is also about the story it might still be telling 40, 50, or 60 years from now. by @investigated

Riley Howell, a 21-year-old college student and lifelong Star Wars fan, was honored as a Jedi Master and historian named Ri-Lee Howell in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – The Visual Dictionary.

On April 30, 2019, Riley tackled an active shooter inside a classroom at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNC Charlotte), saving classmates before being fatally shot.

After learning of his immense love for the franchise, Lucasfilm contacted his family and memorialized him in canon as Ri-Lee Howell, a Jedi Master and historian credited with collecting early accounts and codifications of the Force (such as in the Aionomica).

Law enforcement and military officials also honored his bravery, awarding him the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department Medal of Valor, the US Army ROTC Medal of Heroism, a Purple Heart, and a Bronze Star Medal. by @investigated

Forget red roses, fancy chocolates, or shiny jewelry—the dating bar has officially been moved to the dairy aisle. When one woman went out for an evening with a young farmer, she expected the usual awkward first-date small talk. Instead, she ended up walking away with what might be the heaviest, most unexpected romantic gesture the internet has ever seen: an entire, unopened 26-pound truckle of artisan cheese.

The hilarious aftermath came to light when the woman’s older sister, Elizabeth, took to social media to share photos of the epic souvenir. Her sibling could barely hold the massive yellow-wrapped wheel, which clocked in at a staggering 12 kilograms and was so gigantic it literally had to be transported home inside a heavy-duty cardboard box. It turns out that when you date someone living off the land, practical gifts take on a whole new meaning.

The post instantly blew up online, with people celebrating the sheer rural charm of a true West Country courtship. While some might find it a bit bizarre, the general verdict was crystal clear: flowers wilt in three days, but twenty-six pounds of cheese is pure, delicious devotion. Move over dinner and drinks, because this guy just proved that the real way to someone’s heart is an entire pantry staple you can share for months. by @investigated

For years, whenever Marissa’s dad visited her home, he secretly hid tiny plastic army men to “protect her” while she lived alone. Three years after he passed away, she thought she had finally found them all.
However, while changing a kitchen light bulb, she discovered one last little soldier tucked inside the fixture, lying down with his rifle pointed straight at the front door-a final, touching sn!per watching over her. by @investigated

In 2010, two friends in Veghel, Netherlands—a chef named Teun Horck and a special education teacher named Thijs Swinkels—teamed up with a simple idea that would change hundreds of lives. They saw how rarely adults with intellectual disabilities were given real, meaningful career paths in hospitality, so they decided to build a place of their own. Brownies & Downies was born: a restaurant designed to serve incredible food while empowering people with special needs to run the show.

What started as a modest non-profit quickly evolved into a self-sustaining powerhouse. Choosing a for-profit model over relying on government grants or charity, they proved that genuine inclusion isn’t a favor—it’s brilliant business. Today, the chain has grown to 59 locations, employing more than 1,100 people with Down syndrome and learning disabilities. The staff aren’t just part of the team; they are the heart and soul of the entire brand, transforming an everyday lunch into a uniquely warm, unforgettable experience.

The journey wasn’t without hurdles. An international expansion into Cape Town, South Africa, brought global acclaim and major entrepreneurship awards, though the pandemic lockdowns sadly forced that location to close its doors in 2020. Even so, the movement never lost its fire. That very same year, Brownies & Downies took home the Netherlands’ Food Service Award for coffee and lunchrooms, sweeping top marks for customer friendliness and hospitality. It’s living proof that when you give people a real chance to shine, they don’t just meet expectations—they set the gold standard. by @investigated
