Applications are now open for the 2027 Lake Tahoe Conference Grappling Invitational.

We want to see as many applications as possible. The larger the applicant pool, the greater the opportunity to build additional divisions and competitive categories based on weight, belt level, experience, and overall numbers.

THE NEW INVICTUS HQ: JAN 2027

Updated facility. Stronger vision. Top-tier training.

Invictus HQ is entering its next chapter.

Our private training facility has been operating in its current form since 2021, but the roots go back much further. The original iteration began in 2003, and after more than 23 years of teaching, the vision has never been clearer.

Control Tactics. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Japanese Jiu-Jitsu. Practical training. Small groups. High standards.

Invictus HQ is also home base for the @invictusleo_official movement. Visitors are welcome — DM us before coming by.

If you are law enforcement, a first responder, or work in an adjacent profession and are interested in training at Invictus HQ, email me to inquire about joining the wait list.

Every student is vetted. Applications are required.

We've had numerous people ask about not only weight division but also age divisions (Masters + for example). So, here is the deal. We can only have so many divisions (tops 3) and that will depend on the number of sign ups for the conference AND how many applications we get for the invitational. What do we need from you? If YOU want to compete, share these posters and get more people interested to apply as well. The deeper the pool, the more likely we can run your division. 🥋 THE INVICTUS INVITATIONAL RETURNS TO LAKE TAHOE IN 2027.

The Invictus Invitational will once again take place at the 2027 Lake Tahoe Conference, and this year we’re looking to make it even bigger.

Applications will be opening soon.

Depending on the number of qualified applicants and the weight ranges represented, our goal is to run two separate Invictus Invitational divisions in 2027.

This is intended for advanced-level grapplers attending the conference who are ready to step onto the mat and compete.

When applications open, we’ll be asking for:

• Your weight
• Grappling experience
• Belt level
• Where you’re from / agency or affiliation

Final weight categories and divisions will be determined once we see the applicant pool.

If you’re interested in competing, stay ready.

The body cannot go where the mind has never been. Physical training and mental training are not separate things, they build on each other. Every hard round, every difficult rep, every moment you push when you’d rather stop, you are training more than your body. You are teaching your mind how to stay calm under pressure, how to keep working through discomfort, and how to perform when it counts.

Too many people want confidence without earning it. Real confidence comes from preparation. It comes from putting yourself in challenging environments, facing resistance, and learning that you can function inside the chaos. That’s where discipline is built. That’s where resilience is built. And that’s where capability starts to replace doubt.

If your mind has never been there, your body won’t magically take you there when the moment arrives. You have to visit those places in training first. You have to rehearse adversity. You have to sharpen both the mental and physical sides together.

Right now, the world of police jiu-jitsu and combatives has more experienced subject matter experts, instructors, and innovators sharing their knowledge than at any point before. We’ve reached a unique crossroads—and it won’t last forever.
