🚀 Not all space missions happen in the sky… some roll through the streets of LA.

In 2012, the legendary Space Shuttle Endeavour made its final journey—not through orbit, but through the heart of Los Angeles.

For two days, this 170,000-pound spacecraft crept through city streets at walking speed…
Passing power lines, trees, and neighborhoods filled with people witnessing history up close.

No flames.
No boosters.
Just legacy.

From launching into space… to inspiring millions on the ground.

This wasn’t the end of Endeavour’s story—
It was the beginning of its mission to inspire the next generation. 🌌

And moments like this remind us…

👉 Space isn’t just something we reach for.
👉 It’s something that connects all of us.

This visualization shows how NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) consumes propellant throughout the Artemis II ascent to space. From liftoff and booster burn, to core stage separation and Orion continuing its journey, the animation gives a detailed look at the power and precision required to send humans back toward the Moon.

You can see the solid rocket boosters, liquid hydrogen, and liquid oxygen steadily depleting as each stage completes its role in the mission. Once the core stage separates, Orion’s engine takes over for the next phase of the journey beyond Earth.

A fascinating engineering breakdown of one of the most powerful rockets ever built.

A defining moment in spaceflight history— the Space Shuttle launches with live audio from NASA mission control, capturing every call from engine ignition through liftoff.

From the first rumble of the engines to the final “liftoff” command, this showcases the precision, coordination, and raw power behind one of the most complex machines ever created.

“The sky calls to us.” — Carl Sagan

I’ve always had a love for space. From watching the Space Shuttle launches as a kid to standing here at Kennedy Space Center, that fascination has never gone away. If anything, it’s only grown stronger.

Looking back at these pictures, I can’t help but smile.

Just a few months after they were taken, I found myself aboard an aircraft in France, experiencing zero gravity. For those brief moments, I was floating. Something I had spent so many years dreaming about was actually happening.

My journey with Space for Humanity has also introduced me to some incredible people who share that same passion for exploration and believe that space should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their background.

And that’s something I truly believe in.

Space has a way of bringing people together. It challenges us to think beyond ourselves, question what we believe is possible, and recognize just how much there is left to discover.

I’m 41 years old, still pursuing my education, still learning, and still chasing a dream I’ve carried since childhood. I don’t know exactly where this journey will take me, but I know I’m not done.

One of my favorite things I’ve heard along the way came from astronaut Nicole Stott: “It’s never too late. Go for it.”

Those words have stayed with me.

So whether your dream is to become an astronaut, work in the space industry, experience weightlessness, or simply learn more about the universe, don’t convince yourself that the opportunity has passed you by.

We have dreamed big before. There’s no reason we should stop now.

WHAT JUST HAPPENED?! In collaboration with @spacex , @teslamotors just announced the Tesla Roadster for 2028. Yes it can allegedly do flips and hang upside down with a 0 to 60 time below 1 second. Well, I definitely do not post about cars. The science and engineering behind this is incredible. by @invictyusspace

We’re so proud to be helping make dreams come true, and the truth is, you’re never too old to chase them.

Torrean, a father of three from Roseville, California, found his love for space from "Star Trek" as have so many others. Torrean believes (as do we!) that space needs to be accessible to everybody. Through this experience, you realize how deeply interconnected we all are.

As we reach for the stars, we find our own humanity along the way. by @invictyusspace

To continue World Space Week, I wanted to talk about someone who has been a huge part of this journey from the very beginning — my wife.

@mighty_mel_tyus has been beside me through all of it. The NASA trips, @kennedyspacecenter , @spacehumanity , Zero-G in Bordeaux, the late-night conversations, the crazy ideas, the setbacks, and every new opportunity that somehow keeps pulling me closer to this dream.

Having a significant other who genuinely believes in what you’re trying to do means more than I can put into words. She has never made me feel like this dream was too big, too late, or unrealistic. She supports it, encourages it, and somehow gets just as excited as I do when another piece falls into place.

And no matter how far this journey takes me, she is always right there with me.

Space is unbelievably big, but somehow it still doesn’t feel big enough to contain how much I love you.

You’ve been there from the beginning, through every version of this dream, and I hope you know how much that means to me. I may be the one who keeps talking about going to space someday, but I wouldn’t want to make that journey without you beside me.

Thank you for believing in me, supporting me, and walking every mile of this with me. ❤️🚀

Continuing with @worldspaceweek

One of the things I love most about space is how it shows up in so many different ways.

Our Disney World trip gave me another one of those reminders of why I love space so much. Lunch at Space 220, and riding Mission: SPACE might be themed experiences, but they still tap into that same sense of curiosity and wonder that got so many of us interested in space in the first place.

From the boarding pass to the views, the suits, and everything in between, it’s a reminder that inspiration can start anywhere.

For me, it always brings me back to the same feeling: looking up, imagining more, and wanting to be part of that future.

Flight 14 gave us some incredible moments, but it also marked a major step forward for Starship.

Launching from Starbase, Starship reached low Earth orbit and deployed 26 next-generation Starlink V3 satellites — the first operational payload carried and released by the vehicle.

And the views were unreal. Seeing Earth behind Starship as it coasted hundreds of kilometers above the planet is a reminder of just how far this program has come.

The flight wasn’t perfect. One engine shut down early during ascent, and the mission ended earlier than planned. But Starship still reached orbit, deployed its payload, and checked off one of the biggest milestones the program has been chasing.

Starship was built with much bigger destinations in mind — the Moon, Mars, and beyond.

Flight 14 was another step toward getting there.

Happy @worldspaceweek !

Space has always meant more to me than just what’s out there. It’s curiosity, possibility, perspective, and the reminder that big dreams are worth chasing.

From standing beneath Atlantis to experiencing zero gravity, every step has made that dream feel even more real.

Here’s to the people building, exploring, teaching, inspiring, and pushing humanity forward.

Happy 91st birthday to Charlie Duke @cmduke16
Youngest person to ever walk on the Moon, Apollo 16 astronaut, and someone I’ve had the honor of sharing a truly unforgettable experience with.

Getting the chance to fly in Zero-G with a moonwalker is something I still can’t fully put into words. To be in that environment with someone who has not only seen Earth from space, but also walked on the lunar surface, was surreal and incredibly inspiring.

Charlie Duke represents a living piece of space history, and I’m beyond grateful to have crossed paths with him.
Wishing him a very happy birthday and thanking him for continuing to inspire so many of us who dream of space.

Reposting this because I want someone who sees it to actually take the chance.

A few months ago, an experience like this felt like something I would watch other people do. Then I applied. And somehow I ended up in Bordeaux, France, floating in zero gravity with an incredible group of people from around the world.

So if you see an opportunity through @spacehumanity and part of you thinks, “People like me don’t get picked for things like that,” apply anyway.

Seriously.

You don’t need to have the perfect background. You don’t need to have everything figured out. Give yourself the opportunity to be considered.

That one application could put you somewhere you never imagined you’d be.

I’m proof that sometimes you just have to hit submit.

Keep watching @spacehumanity. Keep applying. Your turn might be next.
