From the studio and classes to Slovakia! 🇸🇰🥾⛰️

Another brilliant adventure with a group of friends brought together through Invigor — this time hiking in the beautiful High Tatras.

A quick cycle tour of Krakow then off to the mountains - Wet waterfall hikes, caves, plenty of laughs and the highlight — climbing to Velká Svišťovka at just over 2,000m, complete with a slightly hair-raising chain section on the way down! 😳😂

One of the things we love about Invigor is the friendships that have grown through it. Women who originally met in a class are now heading off together, challenging themselves and having some pretty fabulous adventures along the way. ❤️

And it’s another reminder of why we do what we do. We strength train so that our bodies are ready for life outside the studio and classes — whether that’s climbing a mountain, carrying a backpack or simply having the confidence to say YES, I can do that. 💪

Keeping strong, staying active, making friends and having fun along the way.

That’s what it’s all about. ❤️

What a way to finish the summer! 🇳🇴🛶🥾

This week we’ve been back teaching classes after our August break — but first, 7 Invigor ladies (plus husbands! 😍) headed off to Norway for the most brilliant weekend of kayaking, hiking and wild camping in the breathtaking Nærøyfjord with @muchbetteradventures and our fantastic guides Ryan and Chelsi from Nordic Ventures.

22km of kayaking 🛶
A 24km hike 🥾
1,189m up to Breiskrednosi Summit ⛰️
Wild camping beside the fjord ⛺️
And a LOT of laughs along the way.

We’ll gloss over the hilarious first night in the “youth” hostel… when you’re all in your 50s (and beyond 😉), it turns out you have slightly different expectations of hostel life 😂

Back in classes this week, we’ve been chatting about the trip and something really struck us — how would that weekend have felt if we didn’t strength train and exercise regularly?

The kayaking was long. The hike was tough. There was plenty of climbing, carrying, getting ourselves in and out of kayaks and up and down from the ground. And sleeping on the floor of a tent was still MEGA uncomfortable, despite all the strength training 😂

Being strong doesn’t mean everything suddenly feels easy. It means our bodies are better equipped to have a go at these things, enjoy them, recover from them — and say YES to the next adventure.

And that, for us, is a huge part of why we strength train.

We’re all in our 50s and beyond and we’re pretty proud of what we achieved that weekend. 💪❤️ And we’re definitely ready for more!

So, ladies — if you’ve been thinking about starting strength training, come and join us. And if you’ve never strength trained before, don’t worry — we have a programme designed especially to help you get started.

Because you never know what adventure might be around the corner… 😉

Pressing pause …

Social media’s feeling a bit draining lately — physically (all that filming!) and mentally (trying not to care about likes and followers😅).

So we’re taking a little break to reset, breathe and get back to real life strength — less scrolling, more living 🌿

We’ll be back soon — fresher, stronger and probably with a few new ideas 💪

Our weekly catch up/counselling session😂

Amongst a thousand other things, we were talking about the fact that even if we don't feel like working out - you never regret a session. You always leave feeling better than you started.

I asked some of my clients why they come......

Why do you go to the class you do?

A week in the life of.....

What does your week look like?

I've obviously missed out the endless meals cooked, the lifts to and from parties and activities, catch up with friends, house jobs, paperwork, the list goes on but I'm always fascinated to know the different ways people move their bodies each week and what does a 'normal' week look like.

What was the best bit about yours?

Slightly shocked that I first saw @bjornagainofficial 36 years ago at @universityofhull #invigorlife #midlifewomen #strongwomen #livinglife #keepmoving by @invigor.life

A strong, mobile back supports everything you do — from carrying shopping, lifting in the garden to sitting tall at your desk.

Try these 4 simple moves to keep yours healthy and pain-free:

1️⃣ Bent-Over Row – builds mid-back strength for good posture
2️⃣ Hip Hinge / Deadlift – teaches safe lifting mechanics
3️⃣ Banded Upright Row – works shoulders + upper back for better alignment
4️⃣ Superman Hold – strengthens your lower back and core stability

💚 Train your back now — thank yourself later.
Small, consistent strength sessions = long-term strength and confidence.

💬 Which of these moves do you already do — or will try this week?

Here we go again...wittering on🤣

We were talking about a client who had hurt their back doing 'something' at the weekend!

A sore back can be so debilitating. It sounds counterintuitive but mostly the best thing is to keep moving.

Here are our top 6 gentle moves to ease back pain:
Pelvic tilts
Cat cow
Bird dog
Lower body rotations
Bridge lifts
Lying on your back and bringing your knees into your chest.

Prevention is better than cure. Come back tomorrow to see how to strengthen your back to prevent back pain.

Jo's TRX rows had nothing to do with back pain...I just disturbed her working out!

I'd come straight from a long gorgeous lunch with my sister @the_pig_hotels - The Pig in the Wall in Southampton. Lush!

You don’t need to lift crazy heavy or spend hours in the gym — but you do need to train your back to stay strong.

Every time you hinge, row, or lift with good form, you’re strengthening the muscles that protect your spine and support your posture for everyday life.

These small, consistent sessions are what keep you pain-free, steady and confident in everyday life — from carrying shopping to gardening to picking up grandkids.

We’ll show you how later in the week - you’re not chasing perfection… you’re building strength that lasts 💪✨

💬 What’s one everyday movement that makes you grateful for a strong back?

👉 If content is meant to do 4 things… so is exercise.

You've probably heard what good content should do:

1️⃣ Make you money
2️⃣ Save you time
3️⃣ Increase your status
4️⃣ Mitigate your risk

At Invigor, we focus on the one that matters most for women 50+: mitigating risk.

✅ Risk of bone density loss (osteoporosis)
✅ Risk of muscle loss (sarcopenia)
✅ Risk of long-term health conditions that hold you back from living fully.

Strength training isn’t about chasing numbers in the gym. It’s about protecting your future, keeping your independence, and feeling strong enough to live life on your terms.

✨ We’re not here to sell you a quick fix.
✨ We're not here to make you do a handstand🤣
✨ We’re here to give you confidence that your body can keep up with the life you want to live.

Because when you mitigate the risks… you open the door to more freedom, energy, and joy in the years ahead. 💪💃
