The reason this keeps happening isn’t the hiring. It’s that every person you bring in lands directly into you.. not into a system, not into a structure. So instead of reducing your workload, you add a layer of management on top of everything you were already doing. Same bottleneck, more payroll.

The instinct to hire when you’re overwhelmed is correct. The problem is that “take things off my plate” isn’t a job description.. it’s what you say when you don’t yet have the language for what’s actually broken. And without that diagnosis, every hire becomes an expensive experiment with a predictable outcome.

The pattern isn’t bad hiring. It’s infrastructure that was never built to receive the help. by @inwhitsworld

⚡️Telling CEOs their biggest problem is themselves (they usually agree after like 5 seconds)

☎️Watching a team meeting and not saying anything for 45 minutes just to see what actually happens when the leader isn’t driving everything

📑Making executives document their own processes because if they can’t explain it clearly they definitely can’t delegate it

🙉Asking “what would happen if you just didn’t do that anymore” about tasks people think are essential (spoiler: usually nothing bad happens)

⏰Suggesting people take actual time off to see if their business falls apart (it reveals all the gaps real quick)

🥳Celebrating when someone pushes back on the founder because it means they’re finally comfortable enough to own their role

😌Being way more excited about boring operational wins than flashy revenue months because that’s what actually scales

I’m 32, and this is my museum of failures.

😩Spent 4 months building something I was sure would sell. It didn’t.
👀Said yes to clients I knew weren’t a fit because I didn’t want a slow month.
💸Undercharged and then quietly overworked to compensate.
☎️Let Slack control my entire day and called it “being on top of things.”
⚡️Built systems in my head and then got annoyed when no one followed them.
🙈Paused my own business to help grow someone else’s because it felt safer.
❤️‍🔥Built things that only worked if I was online 24/7.

I don’t really regret any of it.

But almost everything I fix in businesses now, I learned the hard way first. by @inwhitsworld

Not to be dramatic but being able to wake up slow without spiraling, feels like luxury. 🫡

My nervous system isn’t bracing for impact lol
 I can take the morning to myself and not feel behind for doing it.

The work’s still there, I just don’t carry it in my chest anymore.
