Someone turned up ready a day early… 🐾🎒

As Ipswich High School’s official dog, we’re delighted to share that Mabel is back to her pawsome self after being quite poorly last term.

She’s looking very smart, feeling much better, and ready for the new term!

Mabel will be available for walks with pupils on Tuesdays and Wednesdays - and she’s looking forward to seeing everyone 🐾

📅 When: 1st October, Enrichment 2
📍 Where: LRC

Steven is an Apprentice Co-ordinator at EDF Sizewell, where he supports the training and development of engineering apprentices. He works closely with the National College for Nuclear, promotes apprenticeship opportunities, and helps young people explore careers in nuclear energy and engineering.

🎭✨ WOW… what a trip! ✨🎭
Our Years 7-13 Performing Arts Residential was a whirlwind of shows, dancing, music and LOTS of theatre magic! 🤩

In just a couple of days we managed to squeeze in…
🔥 Hadestown - especially exciting ahead of our OWN Senior School production in February!
🪲 Beetlejuice - the show of the moment!
🏹 The Hunger Games
🩰 English National Ballet’s Rhythm Riot at Sadler’s Wells
…and we STILL weren’t done!

Day 2 kicked off with dance workshops at the iconic @pineappledancestudios followed by a visit to Seven Dials Market.

A HUGE thank you to our brilliant Miss Curtis and Dance, Drama and Music teachers for organising it all (and keeping up with everyone!).

What an amazing couple of days packed with performance, creativity and inspiration🎶✨🎭

🏉 RUGBY ROUND-UP 🏉 What a result! A 26-24 brilliant win for our 1st XV today - a fantastic performance and a great start to the season. 👏

It’s also been great to see so many pupils enjoying our Friday Rugby Sports Excellence Programme with @northamptonsaints coaches, building skills, confidence and a real love of the game.

Our new Director of Sport, Nick Platt, has been helping to make rugby fun for all, with pupils across the school getting involved and enjoying their rugby.

Despite a few fixtures being delayed by the hard ground, training has been in full swing on Church Field and out the front -and thankfully the rain is now helping soften things up!

Our U11s have made a brilliant start with some strong first performances and great teamwork, while our tag rugby teams have shown A-star effort and enthusiasm. And in Prep and Pre-Prep, Mr Rose has been keeping things fun with some brilliant tag rugby drills using the dongles!

A huge well done to everyone involved - players, coaches and staff. What a start to the season! 💪🏉

NATIONAL SKI CHAMPS ⛷️🏆

An absolutely fantastic set of results at today’s ISA National Indoor Ski Championships at @thesnowcentre

🏆 1st Place Mixed Team – Ipswich High School
🥇 U12 Boys - Harry L
🥈 U12 Girls - Betsy F
🥉 U8 Boys - Alfred F

On Harry’s first run, he was flying down the course so quickly that he caught the skier who had started ahead of him. As a result, the run couldn’t count and he had to go again.

With everything riding on the re-run, Harry kept his cool, went straight back to the top and delivered a personal best when it mattered most - taking 1st place in the U12 Boys! 🥇

Brilliant skiing from the whole IHS team, with Betsy also delivering a 1.5-second personal best to take U12 Girls silver, and Alfred claiming U8 Boys bronze.

A huge congratulations also to Felicity R, whose contribution helped Ipswich High School secure 1st place in the Mixed Team competition! 🏆
Three individual podiums.
One team victory.
What a result for IHS! 🏆🥇🥈🥉

Bonjour! Ciao! Hola! 👋🌍 Happy European Day of Languages! 🇫🇷🇮🇹🇪🇸

We love helping our pupils develop a love of languages from a young age, beginning in Nursery and Reception and continuing throughout school 💛

To celebrate, here are a few global hellos from some of our Pre Prep pupils! We’ve had such a lovely week celebrating modern foreign languages, exploring different cultures and enjoying all the fun that comes with learning to communicate in new ways. 🌍
