Our exceptional boutique boarding offers a home-away-from-home experience. We consider our award-winning boarding as ‘boutique’ as our boarding houses are small with exceptional, high-quality facilities from the stunning setting to the beautifully designed interiors. Home for our boarders is The Dairy House and The Barns, our award-winning boarding houses, located within the school’s stunning campus. Just a short walk from the main school, our boarding houses sit in a safe and idyllic setting, looking out over the beautiful Suffolk countryside and private woodland.

Hi everyone! Miss Curtis here. We’re missing you all loads, so thought we’d share a little post from Team Dance:

Well, as you all know, I’m Miss Curtis and I am so lucky to be Head of Dance here at Ipswich High School. I live over an hour away from school on the Suffolk/Essex border, but am lucky to live in the countryside (It’s a very pretty commute)! I have a little boy called Warrick and he loves Karate, Gymnastics and Minecraft. Family life juggles dog walking and more dance teaching. I’m really lucky to have had some great choreography opportunities that include shows at Sadler’s Wells, The Royal Albert Hall and The O2 to name but a few. There’s something about the craziness of a show day that you just can’t beat.
My Training:
I danced from the age of 2.5, studying ISTD Ballet, Modern, Tap and Jazz. At 18, I went to university to continue my dance studies and trained at The University of Surrey and King Alfred’s College, Winchester. My training gave me opportunities to work with lots of professionals from the industry including Namron from The Place and cast members from Chicago. Other MT master-classes include: Wicked, Lion King, Aladdin, Hairspray, Matilda, Mamma Mia, and Come From Away.
I really do think I have the best job in the world and can’t wait to be teaching you all in person again as soon as it’s safe!! 🌈 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
It’s Mrs Silen here. After travelling the world and seeing 60 countries (thanks to cruise ship life), my husband and I decided to settle down in the very town I was born in and that’s Ipswich. We now have two gorgeous little girls called Lexi and Beau, oh and a mischievous little dog called Peanut!
I began tapping and pointing my little toes at the age of 3 and.. well... basically I’m still doing it. I’m doing a job I absolutely love. Both my girls are extremely fortunate to attend Ipswich High School and they’re even luckier to have me teach dance there .
My Training:
At 16 I went on to train professionally in London, and from then on I haven’t stopped working. There’s been numerous summer shows, cruise lines, summer seasons and pantomimes. I’ve even managed to teach in Vancouver, but home really is where the ❤️ is!

Highlight of the week... my last lesson with Year 11 yesterday... we did The Big Fat Dance Quiz of the Year to see how much they could remember of their last 5 years of dance. Gutted we couldn’t do our ‘proper’ last lesson, but it was stlll good fun. Will miss you! Here’s a quick zoom back through the last 5 years. Including a photo from our WW2 inspired piece featuring @the_knightingales, seeing as it’s also #veday75 today too. @ipswichhighschool #memories #5years #throwback #seeyousoon

I’m so sad I didn’t get to see everyone today... Know that whilst everything feels a mess and this wasn’t part of ‘the plan’, we’re all still here for each other. Please stay in touch and I’ll be here for anything you need. I’ll be posting on all the dance socials whilst we learn from home, so please stay connected... Miss Curtis x
