I'm delighted to be hosting SPR presents: Archive in action, a performance and discussion of Michael Nyman’s “1-100” (1975) for piano & tape feedback system, and an improvisation using replicas of Hugh Davies’ ‘Shozyg’ instruments (1968). A short demo for Jenn Kirby's and my project Embodied Dialogues which has been a delight for the past year. The first extract is of the solo premiere at V&A Storehouse East, as part of Soundhouse Storehouse Special: when objects speak and sound becomes matter, CMMR 2025. The second extract is the duo version at Rich Mix, NIME 2026 for which we won Best in Music (thanks @yodashe for the mobile phone footage!). Not going to lie but I’m super excited to have a chapter about Override: An Experiment in Interrupting the Congruity of Audio-visual Relationships across Analogue and Digital Domains in this book.
