POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

As we head into our sixth year, and prepare to launch a new season, we thought we should introduce ourselves!

Irma is an author of 11 books for adults and kids, a full-time book editor and, since moving to the Mornington Peninsula three years ago, a dedicated beach babe. She loves travel and adventuring to places most tourists haven’t found. She is mum to three grown kids and a little black cat. Her zen place is on a paddleboard cruising the bay or walking very fast (preferably in the heat) along the beach boardwalk to pumping music. As an author and editor, she gets to spend every day in her happiest place playing with words.

Karen is a novelist, veterinarian and adventurer. When she’s not vetting or buried in a book, she’s climbing mountains and fording streams all over the world. She also loves nature and wildlife and has worked with all sorts of native animals, from possums and penguins to pythons and seals. She’s fascinated by the human-animal bond and animal behaviour. She’s the author of five internationally bestselling novels and lives in Canberra where she walks daily in her local bushland, listening to birds.

An advance copy of my beautiful new baby arrived just before Christmas! Had so much fun writing this with Kamilaroi man and dear friend @corey_tutt1 about his totem animal, Bigabila (echidna).

Books happen because of a whole lot of dedicated people work very hard behind the scenes. So massive thanks must go to the team at Allen & Unwin, most especially @kaysermelissa and Jo Wong. And of course talented Kamilaroi women @jessicatedim for bringing it all to life so perfectly and @shelljax for the gorgeous design.

Out March! Can’t wait to share this special book with you all 🥰

Holy hell! This early review in B+P magazine made me feel all the feels. You work on a book for years and then you send it out into the world and you hope readers will find something of worth between its covers. So Eman Mourad’s words are more than I could possibly have hoped for. And I will bloody take the comparison to Trent Dalton’s smash hit Boy Swallows Universe! (Anyone up for making the Netflix series?!) Can’t wait for you all to read it!

I absolutely loved this panel with @janemesserauthor and @cynthiabanham_writer who shared the fascinating stories of their memoirs. There were tears on and off the stage — a sign of how moving this session was. Having such a fabulous festival!

This guy. What a great partnership we have. Co-authored Come Home, Bigibila and I’m editing another of his solo books, the fourth we’ve worked on together. So bloody good to hang out at Canb Writers Fest.

I adored this memoir and I’m so looking forward to chatting with @janemesserauthor at the @cbrwritersfest along with @cynthiabanham_writer.

Raven Mother covers so much thought-provoking ground, including how childhood hurts can shape the narrative of a life. (I kept wanting to give Jane’s dad a big hug.) Come join us on Saturday for what I’m certain will be a fascinating and big-hearted conversation.

I worked on both of these devastating and heartbreakingly beautiful novels for @uwapublishing and now I’m so thrilled that I get to chat with Mohammed Massoud Morsi for my Secrets from the Green Room podcast at the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival. Cannot wait!
