POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Remedial, senescent,

In 2022 and 2023, I suffered two back to back head injuries. The long term outcome of these incidents was not something I was entirely prepared for.
In the beginning, the headaches and sheer exhaustion from the blows seemed like the only things I had to overcome. As the first few weeks passed, the physical effects started to appear… face numbness, eye twitching that lasted all day, shoulder and neck issues… nothing I hadn’t dealt with previously from riding BMX. With that, I came to the conclusion that it was something I wouldn’t need to worry about for too long.

What I wasn’t expecting was the mental damage.

Short term and long term memory loss got the best of me. Cognitive issues, slurred speech, confusion, vertigo, depression…these symptoms surpassed my initial recovery plan and extended well into 2025.

I woke up this morning and pumped up the flat tires on my bike for the first time in a while. As of today, it’s been a year and a half since I last rode. This is by far the longest I’ve gone since I started riding BMX in 1997.

I’m finally starting to feel healthy again, and I’m really looking forward to getting back to the things I love to do.

Thanks for reading.

Live off the floor at Rain City Studios in 2015, Leveler and Costin Hall recorded a couple of songs together. Little did I know how important this moment would be in my life. Forever grateful for music and these wonderful human beings.
Much love ❤️

A couple of weeks ago, my best friend decided to hangout with me for a bit longer.

No words can describe the love and gratefulness felt on that day. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible, we love you all.
Couldn’t have done it without you.
