Autumn has a way of making you want to slow down, breathe in the crisp air and just exist in the middle of it all. 🍂

Watching the Hawaii IRONMAN coverage this past weekend was so inspiring - the comeback stories, the athleticism, and the reminder that Anything is Possible.

I’m ready to get back to training and rebuild the consistency, one mile at a time. 💯

Mid-October is always the time of year when I reflect on the Hawaii Ironman triathlon & having the privilege to race in this special event back in 2007. I’ll never forget crossing the finish line with Sweet Emotion by Aerosmith playing loud on the speakers and hearing Mike Reilly announce that “I was an Ironman”. It was a life changing moment that I’ll always cherish. Good luck to all the athletes participating in Kona today, looking forward to watching all the live coverage this weekend! 🏁

A little more than two weeks ago, I crossed the finish line of IRONMAN Maryland wearing a triathlon suit printed with 36 red crosses. Each red cross honored one of the 36 American Red Cross blood donors whose donations helped save my life when I was a trauma patient in 2004.

This morning, I donated blood while wearing my IRONMAN Maryland finisher’s shirt. It was a powerful reminder that my second chance at life was made possible by donors who chose to give. Their generosity still fuels every finish line I cross and every opportunity I have to help others in need. 🩸

With the recent announcement that the general registration for the 2027 IRONMAN Maryland is opening in just one week, I wanted to share my thoughts on @cuisinesolutions IRONMAN 70.3 Eagleman and IRONMAN Maryland. I raced in both events this season and I’ve participated in these events several times in the past as well.

Both of these events have an incredible sense of community. The town of Cambridge warmly welcomes athletes and their families, creating an atmosphere that makes race weekend enjoyable and memorable.

From a logistics standpoint, the race organizers go above-and-beyond to tend to the specific needs of the athletes so they can be fully prepared on race day. The transition area is conveniently located and easy to navigate, making race morning much less stressful.

One of my favorite moments from these events is watching the sunrise over the water before the start. The view is absolutely stunning and provides the perfect backdrop to begin the day.

The bike course is flat, fast, and offers beautiful scenery throughout. The run course is equally exciting, featuring scenic views and enthusiastic spectator support. Family and friends also have multiple opportunities to cheer for their athletes, adding to the overall experience.

Whether you’re tackling your first triathlon or chasing a personal best, both Eagleman IRONMAN 70.3 and IRONMAN Maryland offer a well-organized, athlete-friendly experience that I would highly encourage any triathlete to consider adding to their schedule in the future. ✅

It was around this time 7 years ago when we brought Liam home from the hospital after 5 weeks in the cardiac ICU recovering from two back-to-back open heart operations. Liam would require another major cardiac surgery just a few months later and a 4th surgery a year after that.

With today being World Heart Day, I reflect on the breakthroughs in modern medicine, the strength of my Heart Warrior son & the support we’ve received from family & friends over the years. ❤️ #WorldHeartDay

It’s been a little over a week since IRONMAN Maryland and I headed out for a quiet morning spin before work. There is something deeply grounding about getting back on the bike, not for a heavy training session, but just for the pure joy of the ride. The body is recovering, the mind is clear, and the gratitude is endless. 💯 #mondaymotivation
